The moment then came when Kyuuto finally turned 18 years old, their last training came to an end in an anticlimactic finale. Koori told him that the future is his to hold, and that he just has the courage to achieve it.
Koori and Shin waved their hands goodbye to their family and walked away from the house to a nearby bus stop. A look of sadness and desperation could be seen on Koori's face as they boarded the bus. They have to be as far as possible from the house in order to play out the scenarios correctly.
"Don't worry, everything's gonna be alright," Shin was optimistic in their part of the curse. Not long after that, Shin suddenly had an agonizing headache. His head was throbbing to the point of him hitting his own head with his hands.
After Koori yelled at the bus driver to stop, they finally got out of the bus. Koori carried Shin out all the while his brother screamed in pain. They settled in a nearby settlement, Kanata's neighborhood.
"I'm sorry... dear brother," Shin said while his eyes were flooded with tears. He held his brother's arm, then walked apart from him while still holding his head, "it's coming..."
The cloud above them began to spiral, thunder could be heard from the heavens, and some of the lightning lit up the gloomy sky above. "Shin!!" Koori called out his brother's name for the last time, but he didn't seem to be listening.
Shin was moving erratically, holding his head while moving around. Until finally he snapped, Shin stopped moving and looked up to the raging storm, on his knees with blank stares. For a moment he turned his head to Koori and said, "See you around, brother..." and smiled for the last time.
"No!!--" Koori screamed and attempted to run towards his brother, but then a powerful lightning suddenly struck as he landed his first step.
The earth was shaking, the lightning felt equal to an atomic bomb, flattening anything it comes in contact with. The neighborhood was in instant chaos following the explosion of the lightning to the ground. Cars and some of the buildings were destroyed and thrown away in split seconds, making any slim chance of surviving impossible. The shockwave of the lightning sent terror to the nearby citizen who were far enough from the direct impact.
Shin once again screams in agony as his entire body was covered by the light, meanwhile Koori tried to hold onto a pillar of a building and nearly lost his grip when suddenly he felt a strange presence supporting his body so that he wouldn't get blown away.
After destroying most of the buildings, Shin was finally able to stand, while the dust and smoke from the rubble slowly faded away, Koori was in a steady state of fighting when Shin approached him.
But in that body, Shin was no longer in control, Yamisuke finally took the reign to pilot his body. When he saw Koori he asked, "Koori, isn't it?"
Koori didn't answer by voice, he just nodded in a terrified state. "Shin is fast asleep, we're gonna meet him again after our mission is accomplished," Yamisuke looked around and watched the destruction he caused on every building nearby.
"I shared Shin's memories, that way I know already what your father has already fed you with. You are misled, misinformed, and misunderstand the history of your own clan. Let me tell you everything," Yamisuke approached Koori with his right fingers glowing.
When he touched Koori's head, he experienced memory projection, just like Kuroyuki did the same thing to Kaisuke in the present day. Koori's eyes were glowing brightly, his mouth was wide open in awe and confusion when his brain was flooded with Yamisuke's thousand years old memories.
