Rin, Kyuuto, Ishigaki, and Kanata soon followed Kentarou and Yato's steps into the woods. The malfunctions caused by Yato were still felt by the residents, while the sky gradually became darker, only sparkled with lightning.
When the team arrived at the clearing, they saw Yato lying face-down not far from the cliff, while Kentarou was standing strongly not far from him. He was heating up one of his fists. To everyone's surprise, Ishigaki suddenly jolted his way towards Kentarou with his powered auric, punching him away from Yato, and into the ocean.
Ishigaki seemed very serious about punching him to drown, after Kyuuto reached him, he told the team that, "That was not him... that was someone else,"
"By someone else, you mean---" Rin was trying to fill in the blank while helping Yato with his wounds.
"An ancient soul. A dangerous one," when he was just starting to explain who he was referring to, Kentarou's head bobbed from the water, gasping for air. Yato then left the rest of the team into the night.
After they pulled Kentarou out of the water, he snapped back to normal. He seemed terrified as to what he had done, albeit outside of his control. The thing he feared for years finally came back to him.
----
The next day, the team gathered at the outskirts of the residence area to talk about what happened the previous day. Yato wasn't there with them, in fact, they didn't know where he went.
Kentarou then explained that 'someone' was helping him at the time when he was fighting to take back his younger sister Aiko, who was kidnapped when they were living with their grandmother.
----
The night was cold after a storm, Kentarou noticed there's a black van parked not far from the house. At first he didn't pay much attention to it, but as the night progressed, he grew more concerned.
In the dead of night, the front door suddenly burst open. Screams could be heard from the kitchen. Surprised, Kentarou sprinted from his bedroom to witness his grandmother assaulted by a group of masked men.
"Grandma!!" he tried to fight them by throwing a ceramic vase to one of the assaulters. He didn't have time to dodge and got hurt from a reasonably hard and heavy vase hitting his face.
The other men were more agile and managed to stop him on the spot. Meanwhile a muffled scream could be heard from the other room... Aiko's room, Kentarou's little sister.
One of the men was holding her by her pajama's collar, she looked suffocated while her hands and feet were bound. The man then proclaimed, "You're Kentarou, right? Your father told us a lot about you," the man then menacingly looked at Aiko, "and also your sister... let's go,"
He then commanded his henchmen to release the other two, Kentarou tried as hard as he could to release himself from the struggle. But after he got punched in the stomach, he went unconscious.
----
"I don't remember exactly what happened... but I saw this... man and he said that he'll help me if I also help him, I didn't know who he was," Kentarou ended his story.
"What do you mean? Where did you see this man?" Rin asked in confusion.
Kentarou paused for a moment, and looked at the waving trees in the distance, "I saw him in a dream. He agreed to help me if I could satisfy his... hunger for revenge," he then looked at Kyuuto menacingly.
----
After meeting the mysterious man in his dream, he was able to wake up and chase the kidnappers even though heavy rain started to fall since the confrontation. He tracked them while ignoring the freezing cold wind blowing on his face. The 'man' in his dream gave him the strength he needed.
Kentarou then led to an abandoned building, near the industrial area. The kidnappers' van was still warm and parked right outside. Without hesitation, he grabbed a nearby rusty metal pole, and went into a berserk mode, fighting everyone in the van, killing them brutally.
One of them was still breathing, Kentarou then held them by his collar, "Where is my sister?!"
The man couldn't speak, he just pointed to the roof of the dark building behind them. At that point, the rain slowly went away, and the moon finally shone through the dark thick clouds.
Kentarou rushed into the building with his bloody metal pole, disturbing any peace the criminals had. He kicked every door in front of him, hunting every member of the criminal one by one. But he still couldn't find Aiko.
"She's not here..." Kentarou was ready to give up, but the soul controlling his body wasn't. He was sure that Aiko was still there, and after looking for her for a few more moments, he then heard a cry from the top floor.
Kicking one last door, he finally found her. Bound to the wall with handcuffs, while her mouth covered by a cloth tightly tied to the back of her head. She was mildly injured, but looked happy to finally be saved by his brother. As Kentarou removes her gag, he reassures her that, "You're gonna be okay, I promise--" then suddenly his vision became blurry. As it turned out, a dagger has gone through his stomach in that instance.
"Brother!!" Aiko yelled, still powerless as she was still handcuffed onto the wall, while Kentarou eventually fell on the floor, losing consciousness. He then got a better look from his stabber, and to all his shock... it was his own father.
He didn't say anything, and just took Aiko away. While the ancient soul was very tempted to chase them, the real Kentarou refused to move, until he fainted.
----
In the end, Kentarou failed to save his sister, all the while his grandmother's health declined over time. He was sure the one that has taken his sister was his father, but he never heard from him again from that tragedy.
