It didn't feel like Carl had been in Jenni's and Daniel's room for almost an hour. It didn't feel like Carl, who had previously felt restless since the presence of his old friend, was now starting to be much better than before.
"Dad, are you all right?" Jenni asked suddenly as Carl began to be more cheerful than when he met them.
Carl took a deep breath.
"I met the person I originally trusted but unfortunately betrayed, and he appeared like a wound that he thought could heal easily."
Jenni reflexively looked at Daniel, as if she was about to ask the young man beside her whether Daniel knew who Carl was referring to or not.
Carl, who noticed Jenni's gaze, of course immediately gave a response to the girl.
"Daniel doesn't know who it is because he's an old friend of mine long before Daniel's mom met me."
Daniel suddenly looked at Carl carefully. Honestly, this is the first time he's heard of something like this.
