Chapter 1 - Gallery

"Mommy!" Screamed a little boy who was running on his little feet towards a gallery that had just been opened.

A woman who was previously giving instructions to someone who was helping her arrange flowers sent by some of her relatives immediately turned her body towards the source of the sound.

"Oh, my baby!" Said the woman, who reflexively squatted slightly while opening her arms wide, trying to hug her only son.

An adorable smile can be seen from the 3-year-old boy.

"Who are you here with? Didn't Mommy tell you to wait at the apartment first? Mommy will come home for a while?" whispered a girl named Jennifer Dean.

Tap Tap Tap

"Congratulations, sweetheart," whispered the young man who had just arrived with a bouquet in his right hand.

Jenni furrowed her brows in confusion and tried to confirm who the young man who had just come to her gallery was.

"Gosh, Axelle!" Jenni shouted, immediately letting go of the hug with her son, and ran a little to hug the young man.

The little boy who previously hugged his mother and just let go of his arms immediately felt betrayed by his mother's treatment.

"Mom!" shrieked the little boy who owned Jaden Alexander.

Jenni, who realized that she had wronged her son, of course immediately let go of her embrace with Axelle.

"Look at your nephew. He seems to be a heavy jealous, Axelle" Jenni whispered, who was very relaxed looking at her son, who was busy stomping his feet closer to his mother with his arms folded in front of his chest.

This time Axelle couldn't help but laugh at the cuteness of what Jaden did. He was quite excited to see his best friend's son now grown up, who was quite protective of taking care of Jenni.

"So, you brought Jaden here?" Jenni asked this time to Axelle, who was in front of her.

Axelle, of course, nodded his head in agreement with Jenni's question this time.

"Thank you. I thought you wouldn't come today. I thought you would be busy with your new job replacing your father in London," Jenni said too casually to Axelle.

Wait...

Didn't Jenni run away before? Then why was she able to meet Axelle at this time? Was Axelle the one who helped her while she was running away?

Maybe!

"You came al-"

Before Jenni could ask her question again, a familiar voice sounded in her ears again quite loudly.

"Hello, darling," said a neatly dressed young man in his coat.

Once again she felt pleased because another friend she loved had arrived.

Jenni again hugged another friend she had while at her old campus.

"I thought you weren't coming," Jenni said after letting go of the young man's arms.

Edward smiled at Jenni.

"Of course I came. How could Axelle and I not come on the day you've been waiting for since we finished college then."

Jenni gave Edward a sweet smile. The young man was true that she had been waiting for this time, the time when she could finally stand on her own and be able to put herself on the same footing as the former lover she left behind.

If only time could turn around, maybe there was only one thing she regretted until this moment.

What does she regret?

She regretted that she could not look at her lover's face one last time before she decided to leave her lover's life at that time when new things in her life came.

Luckily she has two young men who always protect her, which are none other than her two friends who she thought would just end when the lecture ended, but in fact, up to this second, it was the two young men who helped her so that she could really stand on her own feet.

A single gallery that she had been waiting for all her life was now actually in front of her.

Maybe she used to think short and selfish, but time keeps moving forward, right?

So it's not the time if she looks backward in her life.

"Thank you, Axelle, Edward. You guys have always been in my life so that I can stand right now, a—"

Jenni's words suddenly stopped because her favorite little boy was now busy tugging at her clothes slowly.

The little boy was a little jealous of the presence of the two handsome young men in front of him.

"What's wrong, my dear baby?" Jenni asked, crouching down a bit and immediately carrying her son."

The little boy didn't answer but pursed his lips.

"Mommy is really busy," whispered little Jaden sulking at his mother.

Edward and Axelle's slow chuckle reflex coincided. They both understood that Jenni's son was always jealous of them when they were well-dressed.

"Can't Mommy see me that I'm more handsome today than uncle?"

Edward and Axelle's laughter broke out instantly when their guess was right on target.

"Of course, Mommy see, honey, my baby is the most handsome. Where did you get the idea for this outfit?" Jenni asked, trying to lighten her son's mood.

"I got an idea from a magazine, and when uncle Edward and uncle Axelle came to the house, I asked them to help me buy these clothes so I could be the most handsome."

"Is that true?" Jenni asked, who was now looking at her two best friends.

They both nodded their heads at the same time.

"Gosh, you're a bother to your two uncles, baby," Jenni said to Jaden wanting to advise her son.

"Is that so? Is Jaden wrong, Mommy? I'm sorry, uncle Axelle and uncle Edward," Jaden said with his gaze alternately at Jenni, Axelle, and Edward, feeling guilty.

He didn't mean to make things difficult for his mother's two best friends, but it was true that Jaden wanted to impress Jenni on his mother's special day because he had overheard the conversation between Axelle and Edward that today was a special day for his mother, for some reason. That's why he asked his mother's two best friends for help.

"That's okay, Jaden, it seems better, I carry you because soon your mother will be a little busy," Edward said to Jaden.

Jaden studied Jenni's face for a moment and then nodded his head.

"Miss Jenni," said one of the staff at the gallery.

"Ah yes, what is it, Ferly? Do you need my help?" Jenni asked Ferly.

She gave Jenni a nod of her head.

"It seems I have work. Can you guys take care of my son?" Jenni asked her two best friends.

Axelle quickly told Jenni that she didn't need to say anything like that because if she was really busy, then the two of them would automatically take care of Jaden. After all, both Axelle and Edward had considered Jaden their son too.

They have witnessed from the beginning of Jenni's pregnancy or Jenni's birth until her son is three years old, and it is not uncommon for some people to mistakenly suspect that the two best friends are Jenni's husbands. For that reason, both of them are now calling Jenni with their affectionate nicknames just to tease Jenni, nothing more.

"Thank you."

'Niel, can I stand beside you now?'
