Chapter 3 - First Day of Being Normal... And Getting Kidnap

The train finally stops at a planet you don't know exactly where but you know it's very far away from your home planet and the announcer speaks through the speakers of the train.

.

.

Announcer: We have now reached our destination. We like to thank all of you for riding the Universal Train Station. We hope to see you again soon. For those who purchased first-class rooms, you will have thirty minutes to exit the train. Make sure you have all of your belongings.

.

.

Your eyes were open as soon as she begin speaking, and you sit up. Looking out the window, you see a different world from home. You get up and cover the window with the blinds before changing into casual clothing you bought instead of your all-black outfit. You bought a couple of normal clothing that normal people would wear before you left home. Now you just hope no one will recognize you as a princess.

You pack your things and head out of the train and into this new world. It looks like you're in one of the hearts of this city. There are so many people walking around, big stores, big white and marble buildings. There is a completely different atmosphere in this world, but you feel like you can fit in and start a new life here.

Everywhere you look is beautiful. As you realize today is a new day, you smile before walking towards the center of it all. Seeing some people walking to where they need to be, in stores, sitting down with friends, and having a good time, that's what you're looking for. But first things first, you need to look for a place to stay. And then after that, you need to look for a job. You have plenty of skill regardless of your height and size. You're trained in combat, weaponry, cooking, and your fire abilities will definitely have bosses in line knowing they could save money on heat and fire. You feel pretty confident that you'll find a job in less than a week.

It's still a good thing you have plenty of money to give you a great head start. As long as you're smart with your money, you'll be just fine. Heck, you technically don't even need to work because of how much money you have.

As you're walking through the crowd, you come across a community board and spotted a flyer you haven't seen in years. It's a flyer for the Big Royal's Circus. You haven't been to the circus in years since they stopped coming to your home planet and performing for you and your parents when you were a child. You loved every performance and dreamed of joining them. For some reason, they stopped coming, and you aren't sure why. But this is your chance to possibly work for them and instead of settling down on one planet, you'll get to go to multiple planets with them.

The flyer says they're hiring, so you take the flyer and go to the transportation services not far a walk from here. There you see vehicles of flights with the drivers waiting outside their vehicles for someone to come in need of transportation. Walking up to one, almost an elderly man, he gives you a friendly smile.

.

Man: Are you in need of transportation ma'am?

Y/n: Yes sir, I want to go to the Big Royal's Circus. (You show him the flyer)

Man: Oh I love that circus. Today's their last day of performing. Come, you'll make it in time.

.

He opens the back door for you and you hop right in. He enters the driver's side, puts on his seatbelt, and drives off into the sky. Looking out the window, you can see that you are about three hundred feet above the ground. You think about what your parents might be doing right now while listening to calming piano music on the radio. They probably know you left by now since they always send a maid to knock on your door to wake you up so you can get ready to perform your duties as a princess.

There's no denying that you are feeling bad about running away from home without telling your parents. You should at least send them a postcard or something of that when you settle in your new home. Several minutes later, the vehicle stops in front of the circus entrance.

.

Man: There's a tablet in front of your seat, you can use either card or cash and the total will be shown in front of you. For cash, just use the scanner and it'll automatically transfer the money towards the tablet.

.

You grab the tablet and see the total of 35 units owed for the ride. But then you also see on the bottom screen that he's raising money for his granddaughter's surgery. You tap on the fundraiser for more information and see pictures of this man with his family in a hospital room with a little girl sitting on the hospital bed. She looks to be 7 or 8 years old and she's smiling with her family. The information below the pictures says they need eight thousand units to pay for her heart surgery along with medications she'll have to get after the surgery.

You do have the money and when it comes to helping others; you don't mind giving whenever you can. They're about seven thousand units from reaching the goal. And so, using your card, you donate ten thousand units and pay the 35 units for the ride.

.

Y/n: And done. Thanks for the ride sir.

Man: You're welcome ma'am, have a great day.

Y/n: Thank you.

.

You exit the vehicle and head on into the circus while the driver takes off back into the air. You enter the circus and see the ringmaster looking over his clipboard, speaking with one of the performers. The performer sees you walking towards them and signals the ringmaster of your arrival before leaving.

.

Ringmaster: (Smiles) Oh ma'am you're a bit early. The show doesn't start till tonight.

Y/n: Actually, I saw your flyer that you're looking to hire someone, and uh... yeah, I'm here to apply.

.

You hand him the flyer and he looks back at you for a couple of seconds before the shine in his eyes lit up with joy.

.

Ringmaster: Yes! Yes of course! I need someone to, uh... to help clean the cages in the back. After that, uh... I'll have to make a list for you. But you're hired! Come this way, I'll show you where you'll start now.

Y/n: O-Okay.

.

You follow the Ringmaster into another room where the cages are kept. They look pretty clean, but you guess you have to disinfect them or something else. You see the cleaning supplies in front of one of the cages and the Ringmaster turns to you.

.

Ringmaster: The cleaning supplies are right there. Now this cage is big enough to put your things in the corner and work on the remaining space in the cage. You can go ahead and get started.

Y/n: Yes, sir.

.

You throw your things in the corner of the cage and grab the cleaning supplies before going in and start to clean. The Ringmaster smiles and quickly shuts and locks the cage making you turn back to him.

.

Ringmaster: And here I thought I'd never be able to even get near you, princess.

Y/n: (You stand up) What are you doing?

Ringmaster: You really have no idea why we never came back to your planet princess? Hm? I'll let you think about that as we leave.

Y/n: Where the hell are you taking me?!

Ringmaster: A place where people will pay me millions to have a Dragonoid Princess. I'd get comfy if I were you. We'll pack up everything right now and get going.

Y/n: Why the fuck are you doing this?! You were loved by everyone back in my planet, people wanted to be you. And now you're a heartless criminal!

Ringmaster: Like a spoiled princess would understand the hardships of the common people. Like you would understand where I came from, and what I had to deal with as a child. Meanwhile, you were being fed on a diamond baby bottle. But now I have a chance to get that experience. This circus was purely for entertainment, at first. I was happy for a while before I realize that I have no retirement plan that would satisfy my wants and needs. Besides, now running this thing has become a bore. Now, we must be getting a move on.

.

He turns around and leaves the room. You try with all your normal and dragon strength to get out of the cage as soon as he left, but it doesn't work. Even heating the bars to over a thousand degrees did nothing as well.
