We all armed ourselves with makeshift shields, made by Valis; she also made herself a bat, while Gale simply made himself a special blackboard chalk to cast spells with. It seemed to slow his drawing speed by quite a lot, but in exchange, his casting speed went up by quite a lot.
Then we followed the small beasts to where they were headed, and thanks to them, we encountered Forren. The many things crawling on the other side of the ceiling were chunks of meat with long tails that managed to make some legs for themselves out of random scrap, be it parts of wooden furniture, just a bunch of nails, nuts, and other smaller pieces of metal attached to their legs through a sticky yet sturdy substance, or just large plates of metal.
