Chapter 12 - Reaching threshold of Lesser Mage class

**Depending on the necessities of the plotline, the author will now alternate between the names Triston and Aarav (as Aarav's soul transmigrated into Triston's body.**

Aarav's core strengthened over the month of imprisonment, and he was promoted to the Lesser Mage Class.

[I guess the Barrington blood's strength isn't just for show.]

"disregarding the fact that no one else—not some Barrington blood—is working as hard as I am. What comes next?" Aarav inquired.

[You now have enough magical rank thanks to joining the lesser mage class to be able to learn earth spells.]

The moment Aarav realized he could study earth spells, he exclaimed, "I can finally learn earth spells! Alizeh, you have to honor your word and teach some high-class earth spells that can easily defeat that redhead."

[At this time, I'm afraid I won't be able to teach you a high-level earth spell. Because your present level of strength is insufficient to endure the drawbacks of a powerful earth spell.]

He inquired, "Drawbacks?"

[Drawbacks are just what they sound like: features of spells that, even executed correctly, can backfire or go wrong, or, even if performed precisely, can hurt the caster's body. The downsides get more severe as the spell becomes more potent. Physical tiredness, delay in recovery time, and other symptoms are also common downsides. The drawbacks differ based on the caster's ability, skill, and the spell itself.]"

"Too complicated huh!" he exclaimed.

-

Another month has gone by.

Aarav sits on the floor cross-legged, his hips slightly higher than his knees, his back straight and relaxed, his neck and head aligned, and he takes slow, deep breaths. White light emanates from his body as he continues to concentrate.

[Your Magical rank has increased to level 18, putting you on the verge of joining the Mage Class.]

"I'm one step closer to my objective, so that's good." As he stated, he stood up.

[Although your rate of growth is exceptional, Aarav, you must continue to be aware of the inhabitants of the kingdom. People may consider you to be a threat.]

"I guess I'll have to keep my rank hidden from the rest of the world until I can defend myself" he exclaimed.

[A very appropriate way to avoid unnecessary danger. If Atwood's family finds out about your rate of growth, I'm sure they'll try every trick in the book to take you down.]

The prison doors clanked as a prison guard opened the prison, "Your confinement period is complete, you are free to go now,"

Aarav nodded as he started collecting his belonging. As he walked out of the prison, he noticed a blonde standing outside the gate.

'Alizeh, what is her magic level?' Aarav whispered.

[Magical level 38, Advanced Mage Class]

"Anna, what are you doing here?" he said as he approached her.

Observing his miserable state, his ripped clothes, and his rough-looking hair

She hugged him right away and whispered in his ear, "I'm sorry for leaving you all alone, Triston. I will do everything in my power to resolve the situation with Austen regarding the duel. You won't have to deal with any more problems as a result of my involvement."

After going through all this hell and spending two months in confinement, Aarav finds himself overcome with emotion at receiving so much love from someone. But he soon understood that Triston is the one for whom this love and care are intended.

'I wish you could have seen how worried your childhood friend was about you, Triston; you had someone who truly cared.' As he gazed up into the sky, Aarav mumbled, 'I hope you're doing well up there, my friend Triston.'

"hmm? Did you say something?" Anna inquired as she stepped back after realizing she had hugged Triston out of nowhere.

While stroking Anna's head, Aarav focused on her disturbed expression "Don't worry, Anna; my quarrel with that redhead is unrelated to you. So, don't blame yourself It's now my turn to fight."

Anna was perplexed by Aarav's response, "Sometimes it feels like you are not the same Triston I knew since childhood, you have changed a lot."

"But you didn't change much Anna, you're still the cutest girl in the Asteria," Aarav joked as he stretched out and held both of her hands after hearing her reminiscing tone.

"Don't you dare tease me," she shook his hand fiercely after regaining her calm. "I'm not an easy girl who will fall for your cheesy flirt."

"So, tell me, what kind of girl are you?" but before he could complete his sentence the solid right hooked landed on his stomach. "I warned you," Anna asserted.

[You asked for it]

While Triston was writhing in agony. He stated, "Come on! You are a Mage in the advanced level. Why did you hit me so hard?"

"Don't overreact, I can tell by the mana circling you that you've entered the lesser mage class," she sneered.

'How did she know?' Aarav whispered in shock.

[Anna is a mage with a strong affinity for the element of Wind. Because of her sensitivity to Mana density surrounding you, she can approximate your magic class, but she can't tell you your magic rank. It was only a wild guess from some great wind mages]

'I see!' Aarav followed Anna as she started walking towards Walter's chambers.

"You have gained some muscles, Triston" Anna inquired.

"I suppose the food in prison suits me." Aarav laughed as he followed her.

With time, they both arrived at Walter Grigg Chambers.

As they arrived and greeted Walter Grigg, he saw him sitting at his study table preparing some drafts. Aarav quickly approached his workstation and inquired about the draft.

"What are these?"

"These are combat plans, which I have been working on," Walter said nonchalantly.

"I see!" Aarav wondered.

Aarav was fascinated by the battle strategies because, as a former advocate, he understands the importance of strategy and planning. As a result, he memorized them with Alizeh's guidance so that he might later research them.

"Follow me, Triston. I have something to give you," As he moved closer to the envelope on his bedside, Walter remarked.

Aarav approached him and took the documents Walter had handed him.

"Can you tell me what these are?" Aarav inquired.

"These are the documents you'll need to complete for Blemsnorth Academy admittance."

huh?

"How did I get into Blemsnorth Academy?" Aarav enquired.

The Moon Temple sponsored your admission. Walter went on to say, "To be accepted, you must first complete your application, but before you get too enthusiastic, I must inform you that you will be attending the Academy as a representative of The Moon Temple. As a result, keep in mind that you do nothing to put yourself in unnecessary danger."

"Sure!" As he began scanning documents, Aarav nodded.

"You must arrive at the Academy by the following week. You'll also be accompanying Eleanora Winfield. She, too, had decided to begin studying magic at Academy." Walter was adamant.

'Her too? It's not going to be as easy as I thought huh!' Aarav muttered inwardly.

After hearing all of Walter Grigg's warnings and saying goodbye to Anna. He left his chambers and began walking toward the horse stable, where he had been staying.
