First Impression

Boredom was a dangerous state for a man like me. As I sat at my desk, ignoring the mountain of paperwork demanding my attention, my mind drifted to more pressing matters. The Stefan situation needed handling, and I'd be damned if I let that incompetent stepbrother of mine anywhere near my Empire again. What a fool I'd been to trust him with anything in the first place.
My fingers drummed an impatient rhythm on the polished wood. Customs fees for Korean shipments could wait. There were more entertaining ways to spend my time, and a certain captive in the basement was long overdue for a visit.
The thought of the basement brought a smirk to my face. Even hardened mercenaries found it an uncomfortable place, but for an outsider like her? It must be hell. Perhaps it was time to see if she was ready to break.
