A smile registered on Jessica's face as she found the papers she had been searching for. "At last," she thought to herself, tears streaming down her cheeks as she sat on the floor and opened the small file. She was afraid of losing her mother along with it. Jessica had always been looking through it, trying to find something or perhaps reading some set of documents. Now that Mrs. Hayman had refused to tell her daughter everything, Jessica had taken the initiative to figure it all out on her own. She was no longer going to be afraid of her mom, and this time she would get the answers she needed, even if it meant going against her mother's every command.
