Someone slipped a plate of food through under the door. Jessica's face lit up as she crawled towards it. Her through was cry, her fingers broken, her eyesight blurry and she was sleepy.
When she'd fallen asleep earlier, she woke up in a nightmare even she couldn't recognize. There was a man in a leather jacket teaching her how to ride a bike. In her dream, the man touched her like he knew her. He kissed the top of her head, rubbed her knuckles. He gave her his gloves and jacket to keep her warm while they rode around the city. He seemed kind, caring. He seemed like he loved her.
She woke up screaming and crying, the last thing she'd seen in that dreame was the man holding a gun to her head and firing. She wondered whether her mind was trying to tell her something. Was this a direct interpretation of her current situation?
