Chapter 4
''Miss lily, do you mind answering the question for us,'' the teacher called for her, snapping her out of her thoughts as she looked at him.
Had she even heard the question, did she even know anything that was going on in class. She was too far gone to listen, all her energy was focused on trying to allow her wolfy abilities heal those wounds. What kind of person would ever do this anyway. When she noticed that the teacher was not going to leave her alone, despite her reluctance to speak a word, she looked up in silence. Mr Mark O'sullivan was probably one of the most attractive teachers in the school. All the students liked him, mostly the female students, who flooded his clases just to drool and admire him at a distance. She felt overwhelmed by the sudden dozen pairs of eyes that were on him.
Lily looked around the classroom, everyone was looking at her. This was the highest amount of direct attention she has ever received her entire life. She hated the way the girls looked at her, as though they were threatened by her. By how their handsome beloved teacher chose her to answer the question and not any of the girls who were lifting their hands.
''Mrs lily, i believe the class is waiting for you to speak up.'' the teacher said, insisting on his mission of getting the girl to speak up and stand before the class.
But Lily would never stand before everyone, she would not let anyone look at her upclose. She suddenly felt insecure. Questions channeled in her mind. She began to wonder whether someone would notice, she could not let them notice. What would they think, if the girls noticed that her concealer wasn't done properly, that the little bruise was not hidden well under her shirt.
Lily smith saw no other solution to this situation other than to walk out of the class. She could not bring herself to say a single word, she swallowed uncomfortably. Picking up her back from behind her chair, she collected her books and stood to her feet. Lily kept a stern face even as she felt the overbearing pain of her wounds with every step she took.
With every movement of her muscles, an injury was touched. She had to be tough, to act normal and show everyone that there was nothing wrong with her. She was sooo good at this. She had done this for the longest period of her life. The teacher was confused, he expected the girl to stand before the class but instead, Lily walked slowly past him and towards the door. There was that sense of insult that he felt, to be disrespected by a student in front of the whole damn class.
To have the high school girls look at him as though he were a fool. As though he was no god, nothing but a mere simple human. Mr.Mark made an enemy of Lily, he despised her instantly. Her behavior and her ignorance greatly irked him.
''Mrs lily, i believe that if you take a step out of that door, and completely assume me, as your teacher, you are earning a ticket to detention.'' Mr Mark said between gritted teeth, feeling that celebratory dance in himself when Lily stopped in her tracks.
Lily thought inside herself, things were turning around dramatically, she did not want detention. She did not even have time for it. She was already getting late to get him every time she walked from school, getting detention would earn her more kicks and punches at home.
At the back of the class, a smirk sat on his handsome face as Noah hemelton watched the scene unfolding. He had not noticed her, he even took a couple more minutes to wrap his head around where he had seen that face overly cached with makeup. He had never paid attention to the girls in his class, unless he saw them pretty enough to sleep with. Today however, Noah felt the spark of curiosity that flew inside him.
He watched as the girl stood close to the doorway, he expected her to take a step back and return to class. She looked like a nerd anyway, one who cared about the rules of the school and putting on the uniform correctly.
Noah expected her to shiver, be scared of the teacher and the detention threat. The class gasped, murmurs rising as the young girl took a step forward and walked out of the class without another word. She didn't even turn to look at the teacher, nor acknowledge his statement. she was like an infant prone to danger, exposed to the new weather of life's injustices. she had to be shared, afraid of what would happen because of her actions, but none of her actions displayed intimidation.
Lily smith walked out of the class with new knowledge. attention had finally been drawn to her. She did not need to know anything else. Everything she worked hard for had crumbled up in those seconds. Her hard work, making sure she would go unnoticed had gone to waste. She was now someone noticed in class. the girl who disobeyed the teacher. To anyone else, perhaps the bad boys like Noah and the notorious students in class, disobeying the teacher or getting a pass to the principal's office was not a big deal. Lily smith was however always the good girl, the invisible girl who everyone hardly noticed. she would become a new target, to the mean girls who would want a badass like her recruited into their silly groups. As exaggerating as it would have sounded, this had turned her life around. what would her uncles say if they discovered that she had gotten a; better to see the principal because of indiscipline and disrespect towards a teacher.
That was the day Noah took interest in wanting to know her. She thought she was a badass, not caring about the teacher's words or his threats. He made her new conquest, the girl he would now need to know.
She was his new challenge!
