Hideki is a man who speaks few words but his words have always had a lot of will and weight. He liked to be alone and keep to himself. Violent serenity was his preference. Hideki preferred not to trust one, more than the task at hand required. One could call it the man's disposition and some reasoned it to be caused by some dramatic, past tragedy. Whatever it was, not many people wanted to dig into it deeper nor did they dare to.
Even though it is as tough as cracking open a turtle's shell, it does sometimes occur and so it did. The man opened up more when he met a young boy, so endearing that even he was unable to be closed off from this said young boy.
Their current ongoing tragedy was one filled with questions and mystery and far more emotions that might be even harder to write down than it is for them to experience and process. Ryu was a soft soul, so tender and pure that one might mistake his honest empathy for malicious intent. This was not because Ryu himself had experienced such endearing values, instead, it was the lack of them. And thus, we have two men now, not their younger selves anymore but men from different paths of lives and yet somehow not completely opposites. More so, complementary to each other's demeanour and character.
Hideki never let his emotions take the wheel but he was yet driven by them subconsciously. But, now more than ever, he showed raw emotions. Unfortunately, they were either of pure joy or unparalleled pain.
Not many liked Hideki Asagiri but the ones that did would have his back for life. For Ryu, not many disliked him but neither were there people who would have his back through thick and thin. It was a lonely life filled with companions and for Hideki, it was a lonely life through and through peppered with some who cared for him. And now that these two had crossed paths and decided they wanted each other in their lives there were obstacles and naysayers.
Ryunosuke Nakahara was not tough enough to be in Hideki's life apparently and Hideki Asagiri was said to be way too selfish to harbour pure feelings other than animosity towards another much less a boy of such an ordinary path of life.
And that is why this can be called serendipity or a tragedy, left to the perspectives.
Currently, Hideki is preparing to put his husband to bed in hopes to calm his nerves from the frightful day he had just experienced. But it is turning out to be harder than expected.
"No, I do not want to sleep next to you. Is there anywhere else I can sleep, please? The couch works too." Ryu said, standing in the middle of their bedroom which he did not remember, facing his husband, which too was still unreliable information to him.
"I will sleep in the guest room, you can sleep here Ryunosuke."
"No…it is your house, e-even if you say it is mine too. Please, sleep here and I will sleep in the guest room and leave tomorrow morning."
Hideki looked at the other unsure.
"I will not try to run away, you have my word Mr Asagiri," Ryu answers determined, his round eyes quivering.
"Okay, here take this blanket with you as you go," he hands the black-haired man the blanket. The latter takes it and starts to make his way to the bedroom door with heavy feet, dragging his sullen, tiny self. Hideki longed to just embrace him, "and…sleep well."
Ryu nods as he walks off.
