Looking at the situation that had presented itself in front of Rodney and the legions now, they had two choices. Well they were given two choices actually. They were to either take out the two kinds of beast in the area and claim the territory for themselves or take out one of the two kinds and subsequently hand the territory to the other kind. Now while the first and second option was both unthinkable and undoubtedly impossible for Rodney and his group, they had a third option.
They could decide to ditch the entire quest and find a way out of the area while the beast where going at it. But then that option in itself was a no go area for certain reasons. The first one being the fact that there was literally no way they'd escape unnoticed. Why this was so was because there were hundreds of beast scattered all over the place making it impossible to sneak out of the area.
As for the second reason, well that was simple. They couldn't ditch the quest even if the chance to do so provided itself. This might sound strange but the reason behind this is that they were afraid. Yes, they were afraid but the cause of their fear this time around technically was not because of the beasts surrounding them. No, matter of fact, they were scared for a completely different reason. What could that be?.
Well in this case, they were scared of the unknown. The one thing they had learnt so far since entering this new world is that it was best to go with the flow of things and they should always adhere to warnings . Now while the system doesn't outrightly state rewards all the time, the one thing that was given is that it had never stated a punishment.
Just like how it had given hidden quests, it had always kept the penalty for disobedience a secret and wouldn't even warn about it to begin with. This was the scary part. And given the nature of the quest and the difficulty in which it had presented itself, they knew the stakes were high and the rewards might just be proportional.
"Err...how do you plan on beating that?" Corey asked referring to the horde of beast while facing Rodney who had his one eye peeking through a hole in his front.
"Well the system says we could help one side win right?".." But it never said we have to be actively involved in the process you know?" Rodney said with a smile on his face. It was clear as day to the legion members now that their leader had a plan. And with this much confidence that Rodney was exuding, it was hard to say it was not contagious. As soon all their spirits were lifted all while not even having the slightest clue what Rodney had in mind to do.
"OK now what do we do?" Erwin asked.
"We wait, we wait patiently and pick the right spot" Rodney said still peeking through the hole while they were in the earth structure which was getting hotter by the minute. But it was a safer option for them to stay inside than go outside.
And on the outside, loud roars could be heard coming from several of the monkey like beasts. But in retaliation, the serpent beast returned the favour with hisses of its own from time to time while turning around to keep an eye on its foe as it was surrounded. But things soon took a wild turn as a loud roar was heard and all the monkey like beasts charged in at the serpent beast.
At first looking at this sight, it looked like it would end just as quickly as it begun. But that wasn't the case as there was a reason the serpent beast had coiled its self and remained in the position it was. And the monkey like beasts were soon made aware as they got close and the serpent suddenly uncoiled itself and its tail spun out out in circles piercing some with its spikes and clearing out all that was around it.
"What the hell!!!!" Erwin muttered a little bit in loud pitch but quickly remembered they were supposed to stay hidden and not sensed. And the others gave him stares for this.
"Err Rodney, I hope your plan involves helping that one?" Blair asked referring to the serpent and the others for the first time all gave consent as this question needed an urgent answer. But that was still to come as the next minute, those beasts that had been sent back from the whiplash force of the tail had all slowly disintegrated into ashes and were all over the ground.
But that didn't mean that was a win for the serpent beast as more monkey like beasts rushed in on the attack. But now things were going to get a little difficult for the serpent beast and here is the reason. The attack it had performed not too long ago required it to build up for quite some time. And now it had used this said attack and its tail was now uncoiled and straightened out laying on the floor. There was no time for it to coil back in position and build up the same attack again as more of the monkey like beasts rushed at it in a frenzy manner with their many limbs.
But the serpent couldn't be counted out of the fight just yet as it did something that was quite smart for a beast. It had one of its head turning and looking back wards and the other facing the beasts in front of it. This was a deliberate tactic to keep track of where all the monkey like beasts would be. But with the numbers on ground at the moment, that would prove to be a mighty task.
It was simply impossible to keep track of all of them and that was proven as one of the monkey like beast managed to grab hold of the snakes tail. Now with all its hands grabbing hold of the tail, it put all its power into holding it down but not without paying a huge price as the spikes on the serpent's tail proved to be quite tough to deal with. But still with its savage instinct, it kept on holding the serpent's tail down despite being pierced. And soon enough, the beast's comrades all took the hint and rushed on climbing the serpent's body.
Now with a good position secured, some of them opted to bite the serpent with their long sharp teeth but that would prove futile as their teeth wouldn't go through the serpent's hard scale easily .So they opted for option two, which was more grueling option to say the least. Immediately, loud thumps could be heard going off.

Repeated assaults all coming from the ape like creatures. Since they couldn't harm the serpent by piercing it's scale with their sharp elongated teeth, they used their most powerful weapons, their fists.
With how many fists that could be counted on just one of these creatures, now numbering them to hundred and more, it wasn't a stretch to say they could do a lot more damage if they got serious with it. And unfortunately for the two headed serpent, they were more than serious at this point. As they pounded harder by the minute on the serpent's body.
Now with no where else to go, the serpent out of desperation sunk its own fangs deep into one of the ape like creatures close to its neck that was pounding away. And following up this action closely, the serpent's second head had done the same. It was clear the two heads acted completely not depending on each other. And that quick desperate action had bought them second of air and now their sights were now set on the ones holding on to their one tail.
Wriggling around, they managed to break lose from some of the monkeys grip but the original one that had first grabbed on to the serpent's tail wouldn't let go. And that was when it was made to pay a huge price as it was lifted off the group easily now that the two heads focused only on dealing with its disturbance and ignoring the damage being done to them from all angles.
While being lifted, it would have had the option of probably letting go and falling to the ground. But that option was no longer available as it was basically stuck. One of the spikes had dug into its rib area quite deeply as the serpent struggled to break free. Now swinging its tail to the ground in such a way that the ape like creature had slipped from the Spike's hold and hit the ground and then the Mace like tail came crashing and smashing the head of the serpent's tormentor. Yet still, no blood. The ape like creature had simply turned to ashes. Now this was one detail the legions had still yet to discover as the view wasn't quite clear to see all that was going on given how many beasts were in the way.
But it had no time to savour the success as some of the ape like creatures from the nearby tree tops came jumping from it and landing on one of the head of the snake. And immediately they began pounding away while some of them concentrated on still trying to get a bite in. With all these onslaught going on, it was clear, though it looked to be that the serpent was the stronger one, it certainly was the one on the receiving end of the most damage. And now the effects could be seen as slowly that one head that was being targeted couldn't hold up on its own again as it began to slowly descend to the ground.
And now something strange began to happen. The once large serpent was now slowly dwindling in size by the second. And before anything it's large head could not be spotted by the legions again. And the ape like creatures, they had all suddenly now come to a stop from all the loud roars and the various noises they made. But they hadn't broken their positions as they still maintained the large circle they formed around the serpent. But then suddenly, something strange happened next.
"Luke....Luke...Luke!!!!. Come on look. You gotta wake up.." A voice could be heard from the center where the serpent was last seen. But this time, the serpent was no longer there. Instead, two boys could now be seen with one laying down naked, bruised and mostly lifeless. And the second one who now slowly got up from the ground also bruised and naked. But something was off about this one. And that was his eyes as it slowly began to change shape until it became oval shaped.
"I will kill all you stupid monkeys!!!" The boy yelled out.
"Am I the only one seeing this?" Rodney asked but got no response as the others looked on equally just as shocked.
