Yang heard the young lad clearly but decided to take his time before actually turning to give the person in the room with him any sort of attention whatsoever.
"What do I want?" Yang questioned Rodney.
"Yeah...I'm just curious to know why you called me over". Rodney said .
" Haha, you know if you put this much seriousness into training then maybe you would have fared better back then today " Yang paused, with his hands still behind his back before continuing.
" I watched you fight today, and honestly it could have gone the other way if not for ..."
Rodney felt this would be about the incident from earlier on and it looked like he was right. Maybe this man in front of him called him over so he could give him a proper beating since he had beaten up one of their own. This might not be exactly true, but Either way, it didn't help much that yang wasn't being straight forward about the reason he called the other over.
"If not for what?..
I'm sorry if I appear rude, but three of your own attacked one of my own. I couldn't just do nothing. So if its because of that you invited me over, then so be it. I'll face any consequence that would come my way. let's be done with it already" Rodney said fiercely and immediately going into a fighting stance.
Yang couldn't help but feel embarrassed and angry that the kid in front of him would think someone of his caliber would go down that low to corner him before he outright challenged him to a fight. Nonetheless, he was also marvelled by the kid's bravery. On the second thought this action of his could be very well termed ignorance and stupidity. The fact that he didn't know the capability of the person standing in front of him and so bravely came to the conclusion that if it was a fight then he was down for it made Yang think the kid might be gifted with powers but he certainly did lack wits.
"Haha.. I Yang, one of the leaders of the hunters and the sole reason you are standing in this place today fight you?"..
"Your stance is off to begin with and that's one of the reasons I called you" Yang said walking over yo where Rodney stood. And as yang walked over, the other couldn't help but feel tense. Yes he had put on a brave show, but who is to say that he wasn't scared. He had just barely gotten out of a fight with someone his size and strength level and now he's found himself another trouble.
"This must be the sequel to my final demise. I mean look at how calm this guy is". Rodney thought as he watched the other's graceful steps. He couldn't imagine this going well for him if a fight broke loose.
"Your legs are too wide apart and your arms they aren't just there yet. You are literally telling your opponent were they should hit you. Now if you don't mind" Yang said before bring one of his hands towards Rodney. He then proceeded to move Rodney's hands almost puppeteering him at this point. Then giving Rodney a slight kick to his right leg which moved the leg a bit and then doing the same to the left.
Throughout while all of this was taking place, Rodney couldn't help but ask himself what was happening.
"What is he trying to do?" Rodney thought as Yang moved around him in circles. Meanwhile, Rodney didn't move a muscle while this took place, it's like he was pressured to not do so. Only feeling awkward about the situation.
For one he didn't know what was really happening. And the fact that Yang was currently behind him didn't exactly help cool off the pressure building in the dojo they both were staying.
Now walking back,Yang had made it so he was right in front of Rodney. Then taking two steps back Yang smiled before saying.
"Perfect, now do you me a favour and tell me all you know about fighting" Yang said as he faced Rodney.
"Ok?" Rodney said as he found this question a bit odd.
"I know a little about boxing" Rodney replied not knowing what reaction he would get from the other. To his surprise though, nothing came as Yang stood staring at him blankly.
"Well.. What are you waiting for?..come at me". Yang finally spoke with a hand gesture that implied Rodney should come over.
"Are you sure about this, i mean I only..." Rodney was about to say before he got interrupted.
"Excuses...they can only hold you back" yang said looking at Rodney and signalling the other to come over.
Rodney sighed and decided to go with the flow.
"I mean I didn't expect this from him. Wait what are we even doing again? Some kinda spar?" Rodney thought as he had his two clenched up fist head high covering most of his face and bounced his way approaching Yang.
Yang looking at the other come towards him had only one thought in his mind "This will be harder than I thought".
Rodney was now within striking distance from young and without hesitating, he threw out a punch fast at yang. Yang saw it coming and quickly grabbed the fist mid air then using his hip, he buried it into Rodney's stomach setting him up for a judo throw kind of manoeuvre. In a split second everything happened so quick in Rodney's vision. And now he found him self staring at the ceiling and feeling immense pain as his back had landed hard on the hard wooden floor of the Dojo.
"What the..." Rodney wanted to curse as he was getting up now with his face all scrunched up in pain.
"Too predictable, be a mystery to your opponent. Lesson number one"Yang said with his face all plain. He still kept his relaxed expression making it look like he wasn't taking this serious one bit.
"Wait, is he giving me lessons? This only happens in the movies" Rodney thought as he now reflected on what Yang just told him.
"Predictable huh?...let's see you predict this!" Rodney thought as he threw out a high thigh kick at Yang. The kick hit Yang but didn't look to have done anything at all to him.
"I thought you only knew boxing?" Yang asked with a smile. Which only confused Rodney as even now he could feel a slight sting on his leg from the impact it made on Yang's thigh. "How can he remain so cool"Rodney wondered as he stared at the man in front of him.
"Trust no one" Rodney said with a slight smirk appearing on his face. Yang only smiled back as the kid's naivety only amused him the more. He could have very well stopped the kick but he allowed it hit for one reason. He wanted to test how much power the other could muster up.
"Alright... Come again" Yang said. Rodney then noticed how Yang always had his hands behind his back and would only move it when he wanted to block. This act didn't go down well with Rodney.
"Is that how much he underestimates me?" Rodney thought. Now with a new goal set in his mind, he was determined to make Yang drop both hands by all means. If only he knew how hard that would be.
"Here goes" Rodney said as he threw out a punch aiming for Yang's rib region this time but his hand was quickly knocked away and with an open palm yang hit Rodney on the chest which sent him flying and hitting the wall behind him.
"I thought I had reduced my attack power to about 10 percent?" Yang thought as he saw the other hit the wall.
No serious damage was done other than Rodney's back not having the nicest of days. With him falling to the ground on both knees, he slowly got up and got in a boxing stance again.
"Are you okay boy" Yang asked concerned.
"Fine...let's go" Rodney replied. To someone on the outside Rodney appeared super tough as anyone his level would be wincing in pain right now. The truth is, Rodney wasn't in his right mind as the pain he felt coming from his back had clouded all his senses. But yet again he wouldn't let this man in front of him see. So he bottles it inside and appears tough on the outside. Now with vengeance on his mind, he was determined to teach this person a lesson.
So he rushed forward and started throwing fast punches. Sadly, all of them were either parried or
Outright missed its intended target.
He then went for a kick again and Yang caught him and did a leg sweep sending Rodney back to the ground once again. But quickly getting up, he charged forward once again with an uppercut only to miss by a mile and his target, no where to be found. Then suddenly he felt a shooting pain on the right of his abdomen and that was quickly followed up by kick which sent rolling on the floor like a barrel.
"If you fail to plan your moves, you will fall into your opponents plan" Yang stated while casually walking towards Rodney. Rodney still on the floor kept wondering how Yang had gotten to his back without him seeing it.
Rodney getting up, now groaning in pain from the shot to his side started bouncing like a boxer once again. But this time wouldn't charge in recklessly. He threw out a few feint blows to see Yang's reaction. After taking a few hits, it was safe to say he was humbled to some extent and now, all he wanted to do was get a successful hit.
"Is he invincible, he hasn't even used his ability or has he?" Rodney thought whilst still bouncing and moving his legs like a boxer.
"Pace yourself, keep your eye on your opponent. One sudden move could be the end for you". Yang said almost immediately throwing out a kick to Rodney's face. Rodney raised his hands in defence to block the kick. But when it connected, it had completely overwhelmed him as it broke through his defence and smacked him right on the jaw.
" Learn to gauge your opponents attacks. Know what to block and what to avoid totally!". Yang said again with his face remaining ever cool.
"I can't keep taking this much punishment. I didn't want to do it but he has pushed me too far" Rodney thought as he held his jaw with one hand and with the other hand held out pointed towards Yang.
