Yang and Rodney who have been going at it for a while with Rodney on the receiving end of a painful "lesson", and Yang who just made it look casual were both seen facing each other a few feet away. It was safe to say that at this point, Rodney was beyond frustrated as he had yet to get a convincing hit on Yang.
"I know this whole thing I'm about to do is the reason you called me here in the first place" Rodney thought as he had his left palm opened up facing Yang. What he was about to do was take a little "shortcut".
"If I can't beat you with my fist alone, then I'll be beat you with this!".Rodney thought as he activated his ability.
[Shadow Trance].
Meanwhile on the outside, the group had been waiting for quite some time now. They had to remain quiet So as not alert the two inside the dojo. But right now some of them could be seen sitting on the floor with the look of boredom on their faces.
"Are you sure we are not just being paranoid, I mean he did say he could handle it and so far not one thing indicates its out of his control" Eiko pointed out.
"Yeah it does seem like its going fine. Maybe that guy from earlier only wanted a talk with Rodney. Nothing more." Corey added with a shrug as if to say "what do I know?". The reason why the others had followed Rodney was to make sure he wasn't being led into an ambush in the dojo. But right now it looked like they were only thinking too far as nothing had occurred, no strange noises whatsoever since they've been have been here for a while now.
"Yeah.. I think we should head back" Johan said looking at the others for approval. Then they all looked at one person.
"What why are you guys looking at me like that" Erwin asked as he noticed the strange stares coming from his fellow faction members.
"I think we should allow our leader handle his business. If he needed us to tag along he would have asked"Blaze spoke. Having not talking much, when she did it would always make a lot of sense to the others as they found her character intriguing and rather complex.
" You all can go, I'll stay for a little while longer. If nothing happens,I'll then head back as well" Erwin said. They all exchanged glances once more before the others turned to leave.
"What is he doing inside though?" Was the question that lingered on their minds as they walked back. Left alone now, Erwin was starting to second guess his decision of tailing their leader here.
"He might not be exactly pleased. He might feel like we don't trust him enough to take care of himself". Erwin had all these thoughts on his mind. As time passed he also came to the conclusion that it was best if he allowed his leader take charge of his own fate. Just like he was about to now as he headed off in a different direction from the one the others went through.
"Not sure if it worked. Only one way to find out". Rodney thought. He had just used the shadow Trance on Yang who so far seem to be relentless on giving Rodney a beating.
Now charging forward, Rodney got close to Yang and threw out a kick aiming for Yang's stomach. He rushed to make use of the shadow trance as the skill only lasted for 5 seconds.
At the final moment when it looked like the kick would hit, Yang had disappeared yet again. Leaving Rodney's kick to hit nothing but air.
He didn't need a psychic to brace himself as he already knew it would be too late to turn around before he got smacked.
He wasn't wrong, and the next moment he felt a gentle touch on his back.
That was all it took to send him propelling face first to the wall. This hit drew blood this time from his for head as it was busted open from the impact against the wall. Rodney felt like there was no way he would escape a concussion, as he felt his head ringing with pain all over.
He let his body slump to the floor and now using his last bit of energy he looked at Yang who for the first time through out the "lesson" had a different expression.
Rodney couldn't really make out if Yang was angry or he was just imagining things due to the ringing in his head. But one thing was for sure, something had changed about Yang.
"That power, that must have been what he did back then". Yang thought as he went back to just few minutes ago when Rodney had stretched out his hands. Suddenly everywhere became dark and all yang could see where images. Images he dreaded thinking about yet alone seeing.
"If not for my years of training, and CHI, I would have never snapped out of it in time"...
..." This boy...he is definitely strange" Yang thought while still standing in his position and staring at Rodney's collapsed and exhausted body on the floor.
"How is one person so strong. I need to find a way to bea...No I need to learn...I need to learn from him".Rodney thought with his head still banging.
"Now you tried to cheat again. Come on get up" Yang said as he was now in front of Rodney with his hands held out ready to drag Rodney back to his feet.
"I'm sorry I cheated... But how, how did you do it". Rodney questioned Yang who now looked confused as he had no idea of what Rodney was talking about.
"How did I do what"? Yang finally asked a question in return to Rodney. With the two now standing up close to each other, Rodney could finally appreciate the facial features Yang possessed. Even though his body wasn't packed with large muscles, he was fit and had a handsome face to complement the whole thing.
Taking the sleeve of his shirt to wipe the blood that had now seized to flow from his nose. Rodney finally answered Yang.
"How did you disappear?". Rodney said with a bit of a red face as the question sounded odd.
"You mean the Yueri footwork?".Yang replied before going into details as Rodney looked to be lost.
"How I ended up at your back" Yang said this time with a condescending look and it seemed to have finally clicked in Rodney's head.
"Oh that's the Yueri footwork?... So its an actual move, hmm I thought it was your ability" Rodney said looking at Yang who had now gone back to his usual hands behind the back posture staring at him.
"Haha.. That's not my ability, that move you witnessed was made by me"
"Wow can you". Rodney wanted to say before he suddenly paused to clear his throat and got into a bowing position with one hand folded into a fist and the second one placed on his open palms said.
"Please teach me ....Master" Rodney finally spoke with his head still facing the ground. Deep down he felt stupid because he wasn't sure he got the pose right.
"I mean, i could probably teach you the ghost foot if that's what you desire or i could really teach you". Yang said looking at Rodney with a slight smirk on his face. Rodney who had noe gotten out of the pose and now had this look of glow in his eyes.
Wait you want to teach me everything you know. And what's the ghost foot any way. Is it the Yueri footwork?" Rodney fired a barrage of questions at Yang who was happy to answer all.
"No boy, I can't possibly teach you everything I know" he said with a slight chuckle before continuing " And yes you can call it the ghost foot or the Yueri foot work " Yang answered.
"You know, ghost foot sounds a lot better for one. Now when do we officially start training. Today's was just a beat down" Rodney said with a frown at the last part. Yang couldn't help but feel bad for the poor kid.
"Soon as possible boy. But first you must get acquainted with CHI". Yang said with a serious tone this time
" OK for the sake of the future, my name is Rodney. And what is CHI? ".
