4:10 p.m., Taimadou Academy, Main Campus Walkways
Hijiri had just finished changing his clothes in the locker room as he took a shower prior. Exiting the male's locker room, he heard humming coming from the opposite side.
'Someone's singing in the female's locker.'
Fuka had told him beforehand that she would be waiting in front of the vending machine on the main campus.
As Hijiri was walking toward the vending machine through the hallways, he came face-to-face with Rin.
"Hey Rin, how're your classes."
Rin noticed Hijiri and stopped in his tracks.
"They weren't bad, I left way earlier than expected though."
"I see, too many onlookers, huh?"
While Hijiri was known to be a more outgoing person, he was also quite attentive to interpersonal relations. This unique trait allowed Fuka to approach him for relationship advice. But sadly, whenever he told her to simply confess, she felt that it wasn't the time yet.
"Yeah, it made me feel uncomfortable. What about your side?"
Rin was referring to Hijiri's and Fuka's balcony.
"There was barely anyone, the students were simply curious about the strength of the humbled tier one mage clans."
While not exactly envious, Hijiri himself liked to be a bit of a show-off. Which was why he responded in such a manner.
"Maybe in a duel you'll get your chance, Hijiri."
And Rin knowing Hijiri very well answered in this way. Hijiri felt that they were derailing what they each needed to do, and as such bid him farewell.
He however did not fail to notice that Rin was holding two coffee milk cans in his hands, which means that he had bumped into Fuka. And considering the look on Rin's face, they should've had a good conversation.
Well, that was what Hijiri expected, but upon arriving on the scene, Fuka is seen to be slightly sad while sipping her coffee milk.
"Do you want another can?"
Hijiri offered Fuka who was just about to finish her current can.
"Sure thing, brother."
Fuka answered with a hint of loneliness and regret.
