12:03 p.m., Taimadou Academy, Cafeteria
Today was a Friday. For the students, it was an extremely important day, the day of the exams for the magic courses.
The students are given free liberty in choosing which class they want to do their exams in. Most students choose their class based on their specialty, as they want to attain a very good score which affects a high percentage of their grades. The other parts of the student's grade are composed of written exams and a point system, which isn't introduced to them yet.
The grades affect your results and class allocation. While it isn't much, it is known that the higher-ranked classes have better educators. It doesn't matter however as magical theory isn't that much of important in comparison with the actual magic, but the students have an ego whereas if you aren't in the A class you are worse than the students there. Even in magic academies, this problem persists.
Nonetheless, it should be obvious that even this group of six would choose their specialization.
After they all bought their meals and sat down. Hijiri decided to open the conversation.
"What exam are you guys going to take."
In the order of Fuka, Hijiri, Hana, Mihiro, Akane, and Rin, they gave their answer.
"Wind."
"Wind."
"Earth."
"Water."
"Fire."
"Physical Armaments."
"It seems that you're going to take the physical armaments exam Rin."
Hana was the most interested one out of the five here. She respects Rin as a fellow mage and a rival that she must overcome.
"Yes, I'm still not permitted to use my fire magic by the clan master."
Rin didn't feel comfortable lying once again but had no choice but to. This time, Hana was relentless.
"Did you ask your clan master for an exemption?"
This, of course, was a logical question to ask. But it was certainly not her place to ask it. While they are already friends, this query wasn't even once that Hijiri or Fuka would enquire of. Rin, knowing Hana personally more, knew how to properly answer her.
"I didn't enquire it as I wanted to do the physical armaments exam."
"I see. Good luck Rin."
Rin answered her honestly instead of dodging her question like he initially did. As he got to know Hana more, this approach was more favorable for them both instead of trying to dodge the question.
"Hana, are you interested in another answer perhaps?"
"Hmm?"
The whole table suddenly became intrigued and unconsciously leaned forward. Even Akane was confused about what Rin was about to say.
"I want Akane to be the top performer for the fire class while I am the top performer for the physical armaments class. This way, the Hitotsu clan will be more feared."
Hearing this, the whole table simultaneously chuckled except for Akane, which was oddly worried.
