She was checking his emails and was noting down a few points on her handbook with a pencil. He wondered who would note in the handbook nowadays and that too with a pencil. He laughed inside with her silly habit
" Mr. Richards… " Her voice made him come out of his thoughts. He raised his eyes as she was standing in front of him.
" You have a meeting within two hours at Louis INC " she informed.
" Yeah… I forgot…" He nodded and checked the time. " We should start now .." He stood up from the chair.
" We! " she was a bit surprised.
" Then who will note the points in the meetings! Don't you know you must do such work? We didn't hire you with a good salary, a flat to stay in with all amenities just not for making my schedules " He said annoyingly.
" Sorry, Mr. Richards. I am new to this job profile. I will follow all your orders…" She said in a low voice, lowering her head.
" Fine… call the driver to get the car ready for us, " he ordered. She shook her head and made a call as Mr. Lewis gave the details of the CEO's driver and his home landline.
"Shall we start? " Cameron asked, adjusting his tie. She shook her head. He tilted his head and looked at her. " Miss. Miller, Can't you give a response to me? " he asked her, giving an irritating look.
"Sorry… Sir. I will not repeat the mistake" she said timidly. Eva could not believe what she had heard. How could he? She was doing her job, just as he had asked her to do. But he was being so rude to her.
She looked down at the table, feeling ashamed to work with this man. She thought she was stuck and had to listen to everything that he said.
Just then Mr. Lewis entered the cabin without any knock.
" Cameron… Why didn't you attend dinner with Mr. Collin? " He asked in an authoritative tone. Then he noticed Ava who was standing in the room.
" Are you here as my father's friend or HR head! " Cameron questioned back.
" Miss. Miller… go to your cubicle. I need to talk with your boss, " he said. She nodded her head and left his cabin.
" If you want to know then listen I am here as your Uncle " he replied, looking at Cameron. Then he continued, " Cam...you are CEO now. Your every action costs our company reputation. Don't you know Mr. Collin is our old client and one of our shareholders? He is interested in helping our business to expand our business in Europe and Asia "
" I see .." Cameron replied recklessly.
" Still I wonder how you could be the son of and brother of Kevin! How could you be so irresponsible! " He whisper-yelled.
" I have no interest in this work. You all forced me to work as CEO " Cameron replied to him with the same intensity. He stared at him and said, " I am waiting for Kevin to recover quickly. I don't want to be the CEO of this company "
" If that is your problem then handle the company properly till Kevin takes back his charges as the CEO " he suggested.
" By the way, where were you yesterday? " He questioned Cameron.
" With my friend.." he replied. Cameron was feeling irritated with his inquiries.
" To spend one night with the blonde girl…" he said and threw one magazine on his work desk. There was an article about his private life which was attached with the company name. Not only that, a photo was published which showed he was french kissing the blonde girl.
" Cameron … for god sake, change yourself. You are not a teenager anymore. This kind of lifestyle will cost you someday…" Mr. Lewis said.
" I only believe in one-night stands. I am happy with my life. I don't want to change for anyone…" he replied curtly.
" Mr. Collins wanted to ask you to marry his daughter but …" Mr. Lewis was interrupted by Cameron.
" Now...I understand why he wanted to help us. It's some kind of business…" he laughed sarcastically.
