DREW POV
When the two jets disappeared in the sky
I looked at Ethan accusing 'you traitor! You didn't take the time to say hi to me!'
He smiled at me 'A gorgeous girl invited me! What would I do with your figure!' He gave me a fist bump. Count on Ethan to say the silliest things when you are about to get angry.
I smiled while reciprocating the first 'traitor! So, what did you talk about?'
He looked at my eyes warning me not to ask again 'none of your damn business kind of talk!'
'Really now?' is he serous? Well, it looks like it.
'Damn down with it! And don't lose your energy I won't tell you!'
'Traitor!'
He took a step back and looked attentively at me 'you look good! Not physically, you look like shit but your expression, is it because you are finally at ease that she is alright?'
'Can't I hide anything from you?'
'Unless you get yourself a woman, no I don't think so!'
I smiled 'oh God, that brat wasn't wrong after all, I should really look around if anyone else thinks the same about us! I started walking toward the elevator.
Ethan followed me 'what do you mean?'
'He said I'm gay and you are my partner!'
I stopped in front of the elevator and started stripping. I
stayed only in my pants and even then, I pulled at least three daggers, these suits are really too perfect. Which surprised Ethan.
'That's a lot! Where were you?'
'Killing people! Kind of just assisting!'
'I will never get how you are okay with that! You are a damn doctor for god's sake!'
'I'm screwed up, it ain't news for you!'
'How are you going to get rid of these clothes and guns, they will be detected if we try to sneak them in!'
'I stripped! don't you see?'
I was putting all the arms in the upper part of the suit and when I touched a part on the shoulder it sucked everything and took the shape of a box. I lifted it and entered the elevator.
Ethan looked shocked at me 'the alarm didn't detect anything!' He joined me in the lift.
'Did you forget what they did last time in the hospital? without any damn alarm activating, this too, is one of their toys!'
He smiled 'back to our subject! why would he assume that?'
'I don't have a girl in my life and you are always around!'
He asked surprised 'he dug in your personal life!'
'He is the one responsible for keeping an eye on my life while I'm in the Temple'
'Is that why you are here? they knew the Fobres came looking for you! I tough you asked to see your parents!' come again?
'Why you didn't tell me?' I said on the verge of losing my nerves.
'You said you were done with them!' the elevator stopped
''I am! We both exited the elevator and headed toward the door of a little apartment we used in case we stayed late in the hospital.
I went directly for the closet where I got a new pair of pants and a shirt. I wore them before coming out.
'So!'
I snapped 'so what?'
He looked irritated; he better be 'don't snap at me! you said you were done, that was one of her conditions to spare your life! Now what? Why are you even getting angry?'
'Because she knows I'm still in contact with them to get news on her, she knew and she just got me out without a word!'
He smiled, He knew I wasn't really angry at him but at myself 'she is one hell of a girl, I already like her more, and you! get your crap together, now that you have your lead, cut all ties with them, I know you didn't get a chance to do so when you were in the Temple but now you do!'
And that was it, I immediately went to solve this situation which took me the whole day. I knew my body was collapsing, I could feel it and it was apparent, I just needed that pain to get my head off of Anna to keep going while waiting for any news about her, but when I saw her alive and kicking it all came back.
AT TEN PM.
Ethan called me but I couldn't take a video call, so I switched it to a voice call.
'Where Were you all this time? You went off- grid the whole day!'
'Got some business done!'
'Then come back! You need those wounds checked!' that for sure I need to, only if I could move right now. I need to get checked soon.
'I won't be back for a few days!'
'Drew! Are you okay?'
'Why are you asking?'
'You don't sound like an okay Drew version!'
I smiled; he sure knows me too well 'stop worrying wifey I'm okay!'
He clearly smiled on the other end 'hey! Just because you are the big one doesn't make me the wife! Did you forget? I'm the player!'
I said slowly 'oh right!'
'Drew! You ok man?'
'Don't worry! I just need some time off of everything!'
'Tonny called! He started to worry since all I could come up with all this time is that you went hiking'
'Do you know why?'
'Some new investments! He said today that you don't have much time left'
I called Tonny and added him to the call 'Hello, Tonny Ethan is in too'
'That blockhead he refused to tell me what's going on! Did you go hunt for that girl again?'
'I'm still here you know!' Ethan said mockingly.
'It was a plan of last minute and I told him to not tell anyone, so let's catch up later, what do you need me for?' I said.
'Can't you come to my office tomorrow? or I can go to you!' Tonny and his rules.
'I won't be available in the next days!'
'What about now?'
'I'm not in town! What is it?'
'New acquisition tha..' Really!
I interrupted 'is it the one Brad was working on?'
He confirmed which only annoyed me 'I already gave him the green light!'
'Drew if this doesn't work your financials will be in the red!' Oh God when will they get it?
'I'm well aware of the whole thing! We have been working on it for a year and a half now, if it's time then just give him what he needs!'
'As you wish!..Drew are you okay?'
I smiled 'you guys are worse than my mother!'
'I don't think so! She kept calling me asking if I have any news, she told me you were talking to her but she didn't feel like you were really doing good!'
'I'm good, see you later!' I ended the call with Tonny.
'Aren't you going to see your parents?' Ethan asked me in queue.
'I can't! I'm in no shape to see them now!'
'By the way, the last comment your mom said, is that how are you making a life if you are not at work most of the time, and that you must stop playing around!'
I smiled 'then, good that you are the one hearing that not me!'
'They are afraid you will just stop going to see them, that's why they don't say this stuff in your face'
'Take care, Ethan!' I ended the call.
Those were the last words I exchanged with anyone, for I really went off the grid for three days. All I did was train as hard as I could or run until my legs couldn't carry me any longer.
