Sleve Button

_ My inadvertence made things turn around_

My steps paused for a few seconds, the man in the batik shirt was looking at me, his gaze i could make sure not to blink.

we usually wear clothes of the same color today, even though he's batik, i'm plain. But the colors are very contrasting.

His steps approached me, my feet should have moved, leaving the parking lot so we wouldn't be involved in conversation.

" Muna, wait me." Oh, really, for the first time i heard that baritone voice so sweet to the eardrums.

" Yes, Sir." I answered pretending not to understand.

His face suddenly turned sour, his hands tucked into the pockets of his basic pants." Dana, Muna. How many times have you said, not Sir."

I cleared mt throat, acting normal." Oh yes, this is outside the office. Forgot, Dana. Is there anythinh i can help you?"

Dana nodded, stretched out his hand to me." Na, please help me. Attach these buttons, why is it so difficult."

I gaped, my eyes didn't even blink." This?" My pointing was half confused, pointing my index finger at the sleeve of his batik shirt.

" Yes, why?" He was also confused, what the heck?

" Can't you attach the buttons yourself?"

He shook his head, his face so innocent, the viewer. I was stunned, he said Dana is closed. Why is this? Little thing like this, ask me a favor?

" You don't want to, do you?" He soft voice sounded again, i took a deep breath.

" If you ask for help and i can do it, then why don't you want to?" I replied with a flat smile.

I pulled the hem of batik shirt he was wearing, although the tug wasn't harsh, but i showed a bit of a burden. I had noticed, his smile never faded when my fingers were busy buttoning two buttons into place.

Honestly, we look a couple getting ready to go to an invitation, attending someone's wedding reception in the building.

" You alone?" He asked.

I nodded," it's impossible for my brother to deliver, it's a different direction."

" That's not what you means, you current position."

" Same with you, right?" I looked up, looking into his serious eyes.

Again cheating, he smiled sweetly, like granulated sugar plus palm sugar. Lately, his sideburns just got more and more tempting. I can go crazy.

" Is it true with me? Do you want it?"

" But this is indeed with you, Dana. Is there anything else?" I said look around.

" What i mean is you alone or someone stays up late?"

My lips pursed." I don't like staying up late, you guess was far off."

Then i heard a small laugh, the source is Dana.

" Who is it? Do i know it?"

I'm silent, the surefire way. If Dana finds out that i have a boyfriend, the news is heard by my brother. I might lose my pocket money. Even though there is no guarantee for the future together. I still love Akasy with all my soul and body, i want Akasy not Dana.

" It's not polite, open up my privacy, Dana." My sarcams openly.

He only nodded once, then made sure the four buttons on his sleeves were properlu attached.

" Thank you, Muna. You are the first woman to do something small like this, but for me, ist's very special." His lips curved into a big smile," oh yes, the color of our clothes is the same, even though you and me don't have an appoinment, i hope it's a good sign." He stepped away, suddenly i took a step back.

GATA GROUP, it seems i entered the wrong company to do an internship in order to prepare for graduation requirements. It can be like this, Boss.

I look back, Dana body had drifted away, soon to be swallowed by the corner of the third office.

I shook my head, fully conscious. It felt like when we faced him, our conversation was more related to feelings and strangely, it was Dana who started first.

STATE WEDDING

I tapped the tip of the pen to the table, there were no piles of documents given Ms Vayuna or Mr Dana, like it or not, i tried to approach seniors. What's wrong with asking a few things about work here.

I approached a woman with shoulder -lenght hair. I didn't her name.

" Miss, can i sit here?" I asked, looking at him a little doubtfully.

" Sure.." That is it.

I pulled up a chair and sat beside her.

" Are you very busy, Miss?" I started small talk," looks like deadlines are pilling up."

She nodded without reply.

" What a coincidence, Miss? I'm out of work, i can help you." Good offer from me to seniors.

" What major?"

" Management, Miss."

" Understand the material?"

I nodded." I am a student who is expected to graduate with a cumlaude degree, Miss."

She smiled slighty, glancing at me.

" Do you really want to help?"

" I came here, ir means i'm ready. Who should i call you?"

" Miss Niya, just call me Miss Aya."

" Okay, Miss. I can help Miss Aya really." I answered happily.

She took out some recaps of accounting assignment, my eyes widened in shock.

" Here you go.." She said handing me a pile of paper.

" Everything, Miss?" I rechecked.

" You said wanted help me, yes, this is all, don't bear it."

I gulped down my saliva, instantly regrettinh that i had prided myself on this ignorant human.

" Help me, i haven't had breakfast since earlier."

I nodded." Okay, Miss. I'll bring it to the table."

She just raised her forehead, a sign of approval. But for Muna Syabila not to lick his own saliva, i will finish it before lunch time arrives.

My eyes glanced towards Dana room, there were several men with tall stature, bald heads, until they were dazzled because there was not a single hair.

My guess is Dana client from outside the country, the GATA GROUP company is indeed a well - known company that enters into contracts with foreign companies.

Especially in the oil and gas sector. Dana does have lucky hands, people say anyway, when him shake hands, not a single client refuses the invitation to work together. Isn't that cool?

Argh! How could it be that man again i thought. My eyes drifted to the white paper that the blue pen had scribbled on. Transcribed into the computet. Every now and then my eyes glanced at Dana, the white glass on the door to Dana room made it easy for my sense of sight to know what activities were inside.

Even thought he didn't look back at me, i sti looked at him. I chuckled, his fingers couldn't separate playing the buttons on the sleeves of the shirt i had put on.

A moment to look at, a moment to be runned. New buttons, no tie. Just imagine, maybe he loves my tie more than the button hook i put on.

My phone vibrates, there's a message.Akasy name with love emots is clearly written. I immediately opened it.

Akasy : Are you busy?

Muna : Quite, busy. Coincidentally today there is a senior who does not khow the profit. but never mind. I sincerely help her, it's pretty good.

Akasy : Don't be a bad person.😌

Muna : I think it's not bad, i offer myself.

Akasy : But, do you get it? Nothing. Miss you.

Muna : Me too🤍 When are you coming back to Indonesia?

we had a serious conversation, but my message ended up being read. I sighed disappointed, Akasy had left the chat column were doing.

I wiped my face, finished three more columns, it turned out that the lunch break had five minutes left.

After finishing, i handed it over to Ms Aya without saying much. She thanked me and i said you're welcome.

I sat on the chair, laying my head on the table. Suddenly my eyes became hot, i felt tears welling up in the corners of my beautiful eyes.

three years, Akasy left me alone. When he wes nineteen and exactly the same as me, now he's twenty - two. I sent he a bunch as a lover, but she didn't do that at all.

He is not active on Instagram, Facebook, Line, Path or Twitter. No updates whatsoever, even he never let me make video calls, we just exchanged messages.

And this is what i said to sister Ciki, my relationship with Akasy is fine. Even though i didn't, i kept giving in, i felt Akasy came when he was sad, he needed me to listen to all his feelings. But when i did, he wasn't there.

He is not there for Muna Syabila, not infreguently, my long rants only end up being read without reassurance.

Honestly i'm sick and tired, but i believe, Akasy is much more tired than me being restrained by his parents. Therefore, i desperately understand, understand that Akasy is still for me, really.

I woke up when i felt the edge of the table vibrate. A pretty loud knock from Dana, it turned out that the room was empty, everyone was resting outside. Lunch, while i was late thinking about the situation and reality.

" Waiting for an assignment from me?" He said knowingly, pressed his body against my cubicle.

" No, Sir." I answered honestly," i'm tired of something. I'm actually grateful if you don't give me a job."

He didn't seem to like my answer." You won't even get a job from me later, let alone the person."

I laughed softly," you haven't unbuttoned your sleeves?"

" No, why do you even ask for buttons, Na?"

" I saw it earlier. That button you keep on messing."

" Not nosy, i guard."

" Guard from what?"

" From a client."

" How? Approve? They want to sign a contract at the company?" I asked curiosly but sounded like a cared about his efforts.

" Yes, it's safe." He glanced at the clock on his wrist." No lunch?"

" No, Sir. Lazy."

" Would you like to go - food?"

" I haven't been paid, where is the money. Oh, are interns paid for?"

" Let i provide for you, today. Regarding interns, you still get a share, but it's not as big as permanent employees."

" Wow, cool man. No wonder if your sustenance continues. You just don't be stingy."

" Isn't it your dream, Na?" His words sounded very serious.

The question that left me speechless, i pretended not to hear what he said. Open the cellphone on the table.

" Is it true, him likes me?" I wondered," how come when we talk, he talks about his feelings. It's a burden to know, Dana." I said again, to myself.

TBC.
