Alex was greeted with yet another sleepless night in his life. Alex tossed and turned on the bed, unable to fall asleep despite the bleak night wind beating against the glass window outside the window and the slightly dim water-like moonlight shining through the window inside. Despite the fact that Alex has not slept for more than 40 hours, Alex does not appear to be fatigued in the least. Alex's spirit and body are supported by an unexplainable force, which allows them to maintain sufficient vitality in the midst of this quiet night.
After a while, it was once again morning. Alex's face had become even more wrinkled, and his hair had become even more unkempt, like a chicken coop. Suddenly, Alex realized that there were still several bags of milk in the refrigerator, and he felt a pang of hunger vanish from his stomach. In order to get out of bed, Alex dressed and got out of bed. Due to the sudden dizziness, Alex frowned a little bit, and the body that had just gotten out of bed was also feeling slightly swayed and unsteady.
As a result, Alex clung to the edge of the bed for dear life, and after a few moments of stabilization, he staggered out of the room. Alex heard a knock on the door just as he was about to take out a bag of milk and start drinking it. Due to the fact that Alex is a bachelor with few friends, no one usually comes to Alex's house except for the delivery of water bills and takeout food. However, it is still early in the morning, and it is clearly not the appropriate time to charge for water. Alex, on the other hand, did not order takeout. Alex didn't give it much thought at the time. He entered through the front door and opened the door for her. He looked outside the door and saw a tall, slender, slender, shawl-length young woman with black eyes standing there. Alex looked away for a moment before realizing that it was Sophia who had approached him.
"Did you just get out of bed?"
Sophia raised her arm and motioned to Alex to take the breakfast she was carrying: "Alex, take this." "I came to see you because I had a recollection of something that happened to my brother. I'm assuming you haven't had anything to eat yet. I brought you breakfast, by the way, because I was thinking about you." "Oh, thank you very much." "Please come in," Alex requested. The moment Alex turned around and attempted to bring Sophia into the room, an uncontrollable burst of dizziness engulfed him and rendered him unable to speak or move. A lot of brilliant ideas were circling around in Alex's head at this point, and the world went black. In a split second, the sky began to whirl. Alex was thrown to the ground with great force.
Alex had a vague recollection of Sophia's exclamation just before he lost consciousness. Sophia, who was carrying breakfast, was at a loss for words as she looked at Alex, who had fallen to the ground. Immediately after placing the breakfast box in his hand and preparing to assist Alex, he was startled by the appearance of a middle-aged man in a neat black suit with short hair and a resolute and indifferent expression walking out from the balcony. It was Virat who did it. After walking over to Alex's side and pressing a finger against the aorta of Alex's neck for a few moments, Virat opened Alex's eyelids and looked at the aorta before standing up:
"He's in good health. He is dizzy as a result of his overwork. It's just that it's down." "Over... overworked?" says the speaker. Sophia murmured to herself, "What should I do in that case? I'm going to call for an ambulance." Virat gave Sophia a fleeting glance, and Sophia immediately froze and remained motionless. There was nothing that could be done. Virat pulled something out of his arms that looked like a mobile phone and pressed it a few times, but within five minutes, several young men in military uniforms rushed into Alex's house, and there was nothing between them and Virat. Virat screamed at them, but they didn't respond. After they finished talking, he simply took out the stretcher and placed Alex on it before carrying it away. The entire procedure takes no longer than thirty seconds.
"That's what I heard you say... Do you have anything you'd like to share with him about your brother?" "Would you like to accompany me to see him?" Virat inquired. Sophia nodded, but it was a subconscious nod. "Go." Virat said something and then turned to leave. Sophia trailed behind Virat in a brisk pace. Alex had many dreams while sleeping, and he was in a daze throughout them. Those dreams were bizarre, but when Alex awoke, he had almost completely forgotten about them, remembering only that he had seen and experienced many things in the dream, and that it appeared that he had also slept for an extended period of time. Immediately catching Alex's attention were the white ceiling and a hanging bottle dangling from a support rod directly beside him.
A hose extended from the hanging bottle, continuously injecting transparent liquid into his body, and there was a strong smell of disinfectant in the air, as if someone had disinfectant on them. When Alex turned his head, he saw Virat standing by the window of the ward, his body motionless like a massive mountain, looking out. While she sat there peeling apples, Sophia was sitting next to her doing the same thing. When Sophia noticed Alex waking up, she gave him a friendly smile and said, "You lie down and don't move, and I'll call the doctor." After some time had passed, the doctor arrived, examined Alex's body, and declared, "No big deal, but excessive exertion combined with low blood sugar will cause you to pass out and become unconscious.
Take some time to rest and eat something healthy, and you'll be fine." Sophia rose to her feet and thanked the doctor, saying, "Thank you, thank you." Virat, the doctor has left the building. Sophia sat down next to Alex once more, her gaze fixed on the view out the window. "You mentioned that you wanted to tell me something about your brother?" Alex was the one who inquired. "Yes." Sophia smiled and nodded.
"It took me a while to recall that my brother had asked me to assist him in the construction of a high-precision light intensity detector about a year ago... You should be aware that I work at the Institute of Optics. The level of precision he requires is extremely high. Instruments with this level of precision are most commonly found in the biological and medical industries, respectively.
