*BGM: Billy Idol- Rebel Yell*
It's so much more relaxing when you're the only one doing the shooting. I'm basically city hopping my way North. I clear out most of the infected in the area, burn the corpses, replenish my supplies, and move on.
If the survivors can't clear out the remaining 5-10%, just die. Honestly, the least you can do is get your shit together and hunt down the remaining infected. The military is finally taking action against the infected. There are safe zones setup by the police and armed forces. But they're stretched thin. The infrastructure collapse is leading to supply problems. Some are using riot shields and makeshift spears to handle the infected.
My kill count is officially in the millions now. I don't know the amount of excelia I will get or can get, I don't even know if I'll get excelia from this. But all of that excelia will go towards WIS or INT, the rest of the parameters are lacking.
Why does everything have to involve using sticks and stones?
If I was certain I would be getting excelia, I would go around with a stick and bashing in heads. But I don't know the entire scenario at this point in time. And it's not safe to assume anything in combat.
Letting the virus play out has worked in my benefit. But now it's just a matter of balance. The spread is exponential, if I'm too slow, everything is a zombie. Too quick and I can't really do anything.
The military is reluctant to bomb cities. Seeing as they will need them to house the survivors.
I am considering just practicing magic instead of just shooting up the city. There is something cathartic about setting fire to your enemies.
A Flamethrower!
Why don't I make one? A magical one, maybe, but a multi-function flamethrower. I saw some interesting things in the ARMORY, maybe give them another look. If there's something I can use, or maybe even upgrade, that'll cut out some development time.
Kill and cremate with every pull of the trigger. So efficient.
*A few weeks later*
This is so annoying. I need a way to expedite the killing of zombies. Simply making more drones isn't completely feasible. I need air and space assets. To make those assets and get them in place, I need an airfield and a metric fuckton of sophisticated materials. I can transport everything in my INVENTORY, but the materials in my inventory are no good as is, at least for the type of drones I need.
I'm currently in North Korea, unleashing the plague.
I tried to help the locals, but then the secret police decided to shoot at me. So that made my decision easier. I burned the city down. Auto-loot had very little work to do. Maybe I'll have better luck in the capital. For now, setup a little workshop in the burned down town, and make more ammo. I've noticed that the ammo recovery and auto-repair aren't working as quickly as they used to. I've gotten too used to the good stuff. Time to upgrade the drones as well.
The drones were let loose, shoot any bipedal heat signature. People are shades of orange and yellow on the IR and white on the thermal. Zombies are red and green on the IR and greyish on thermals. Teaching the drones that took a few days, now that's all done. I keep heading North.
I want to look for and secure their military assets. That will make so many things easier. Older Russian or Chinese knockoff jets. Tanks and artillery pieces. Just a half dozen ammo dumps will be more than enough for the next 3 months. The natural gas and oil storages are a boon. Combining them with a binder and oxidizer makes a very effective flamethrower. I can use my spells, but what's the point. The zombies aren't worth the effort. It is better used to maintain and clean my current weapons and drones. I will also need to practice and develop spatial and storage magic. Master Makarov is guiding me through the more complex aspects of forming pocket dimensions. Namely, anchoring them to specific objects or yourself. Objects first, don't want to wake up all mangled and shit.
I've sort of lost contact with the rest of the boys, maybe I should catch up with them.

...
Madara: So what you're saying is you're slow.
Me: No...yes. I need vehicles, both land and air to effectively steamroll through Asia.
Master Roshi: I still don't understand why you can't help the people.
Me: As I stated before Master Roshi, if they can't get rid of a few pests, then, they deserve everything coming to them. Also diminishing returns. Clearing out 80-90% of the zombies in an area, is the most efficient method. If they can't fight for themselves, why should we?
Master Roshi: Doesn't mean I have to like it. It doesn't feel right.
Genryusai: Do not try to be a hero, it leads to nothing but pain.
Odin: I must agree on this particular point. Also Genryusai, did you and Bang find any indication of what started this mess? I am having no luck analyzing the corpses.
Genryusai: Nothing on our end.
Me: So to iterate, the virus dies with the host. It cannot survive outside the host body for more than 5 minutes, but can survive in water until it finds another suitable host. Am I missing anything?
Bang: No
Me: Fuck, if you're no already burning the corpses, start doing so. Also try to kill them away from water sources. Rivers and streams, yes. Also Canals, sewage lines, water lines. Things just got a lot more complicated.
Anybody make contact with trustworthy leaders?
Madara: No
Zeno: No
Master Roshi: Unfortunately not.
Master Makarov: There was a priest of some sort, but he was found stabbed to death this morning.
Odin: No
Genryusai: Yes, but she was killed by her husband. So no.
Bang: Nothing but scum here.
Whitebeard: An admiral on the Nimitz seems reasonable. Their little fleet functions well enough. Until they need food that is. They have contact with their counterparts. They are planning to regroup on an island called Hawaii.
Me: Did you say Nimitz?
Whitebeard: Yes, that's what it says on the side of the ship.
Me: Gentlemen, we're in luck. Whitebeard, Tell them what we've discussed. Also tell them to try and contact the Air Force. Resurrect the graveyard. The army should either be hunkered down or completely fucked, depending on the CO. Still ask them to try and set up hospitals.
Whitebeard: Will do. What's so special about this ship?
Me: My son might be in that fleet. Not my actual son, but at least his namesake.
