I turned on Auto-Loot, and drank the Mind Enhancement Potion. The potion tasted like moonshine made by an amateur, so its working. It was 16:20 now. And I had a bit of free time before dinner.
'I still have the Free Music pass and the weapons box. I'll look into the music after dinner, for now the Weapons Box.'
I took it out of my INVENTORY and placed it at my feet. 'So that's what Extend Range meant, for now everything I want to bring out of my inventory appears in my hands. I'll buy that later.'
Opening the Weapons Box was a very pleasant surprise. It contained the following:
MP7A2 4.6mmx30mm - 4x 45 round magazines, suppressor, front grip, red dot sight, and Picatinny rails-receiver, sides, under-barrel.
M1014 12-gauge shotgun: is a semi-auto shotgun, does not use a detachable magazine, A bit of a pain to reload in a fire-fight but it is possible to shoot grenades right at hostiles or hardened targets so it's pretty useful.
Xiphos: A short-sword used by King Leonidas of Sparta at the Battle of Thermopylae.
'A funky looking short-sword. It looks like a sabre and a meat cleaver had a child.'
There was also boxes of 12 gauge ammo, clearly labeled. Buckshot, birdshot, rifled slugs, and Frag-12. 24 rounds per box.
'Thank you Admin!'
I just need to sort out my webbing and what I'll be using primarily.
The clothes I'm currently wearing are what I had originally, they are serviceable but lack the storage and protection I will need later on.
Black trousers and a grey tunic. The boots are alright for now, they're 9" boots, black leather and work just fine. They're familiar so I'll stick with them. The tunic needs pockets. And so do the pants.
'Light infantry my ass, I weighed 105kg at my prime and I was carrying 45kg of kit rations and ammo.'
Thanks to the INVENTORY, I don't have to lug around all that kit, but making battle tactics becomes more complicated. I'll upgrade my spear and shield first. Then I'll worry about other things.
Also I have to get Madara proficient in firearms. I've already decided to send him a suppressed M9 to start off with. The exchange in information should be beneficial for both of us. Honestly he doesn't even need a firearm but his clan and subordinates will benefit from having them. Maybe simple revolvers will do. Who knows. He's fucking terrifying. Seriously who wipes out a clan just because they got a little too close for comfort? But his world is a medieval dog eat dog kind of place. There only strength matters. Well that's the case everywhere but it's not like my life where money was a strength you could use for everything. Madara had the potential to stand at the top of his world but there are also others like him that have the strength and ambition to conquer and rule.
Odin if he agrees to assist in my learning of runes will be a great help, I can't offer him anything tough. I mean his basic soldier can shred apart a company of 180 marines in less than ten minutes. I'll have to ask really nicely.
Bang is very agreeable. He is willing to learn and teach but I don't know what he wants in return. He's as good as Madara when it comes to hand-to-hand combat but Madara blows him out of the water with the use of chakra.
'Maybe I can give them information. The SHOP had information from my past world. So I think I'll be able to help the others out that way.'
💡
'I'm a Recon and Scout Sniper Marine, my entire shtick is intel gathering! It's decided then, I'll craft items and hone my skills that allow for better information gathering. Information requires money and I'll use that information, and in lieu of money I'll ask for favours. The mission to Survive, given by Admin is by no means an easy one, but if I can integrate even a bit of what the others know I'll have a much easier time.'
*****18:30*****
After dinner I came back to my room, to take care of reshuffling my kit and plan out how I'm going to tackle the dungeon. As I was moving my things around in the INVENTORY, I noticed there was a small "i" circle on the top of each square my things were in. I had the golden eggs selected, so me being curious as to what this could be, I clicked on it. It then opened up a separate panel and have a thorough description of the item.
{Jack Bird's Golden Egg: A very rare drop. Worth V1,000,000. The properties of this egg are able to improve and create miracles of crafting. Also edible, once ingested the users' growth rate and limits increase. The eggshells can still be used, though they will not provide the same effects as the whole egg. A favourite of gods on Genkai, it's the closest thing to Ambrosia.}
'Damn! and I have five of them. Time to make an omelette...for breakfast. I just ate.'
I then bought all the music I used to like to listen to. Rock, rap, heavy-metal, soul, blues, a bit of classical music. That took about 3 hours.
'It's been a while since I heard from the others.'
Checking the Chat-Group, there were no messages from them. I looked around and right at the top left there was a red dot. Clicking on that, I facepalmed. Somehow I'd turned the CHAT function off, how I don't have the faintest idea. Turning it back on I was inundated with a stream of messages and conversations. I felt a bit left out, then I saw messages asking me if I was alright.
{Genryusai: Kid, you doing alright?}
{Whitebeard: Do you think he died?} 'Oi, that was uncalled for!'
{Master Roshi: In a day? I don't think so, he didn't seem like the careless type.} 'Thank you Master Roshi.'
'The concern is touching truly.'
{Me: Hello gentlemen, I don't know what happened but I turned the CHAT function off. I'm doing well, thank you for your concern.}
{Zeno: Glad to see that you're alive. What have you been up to?}
{Me: I did my first dungeon dive today. I am a part of the Hermes familia. Thank you all for your guidance.}
{Zeno: That's good, continue to grow, we don't know when a MISSION will appear. We've all gotten a personal mission from Admin in preparation for a group mission. Did you get anything?}
{Me: Not yet, but I'll bear that in mind. The original mission given might be the only thing I may have. If you don't mind me asking what kind of mission did you get?}
{Zeno: I got a mission to exterminate a contingent of criminals in 3 hours. It was a bit taxing for these old bones, took me an hour to find and complete the mission. A few hundred low level criminals used to be so easy to take care of. Assassination works best on small groups or an individual.} '...'
{Me: I see. Well congratulations on your mission completion.}
The others listed their missions as well. They were proud of their accomplishments. Especially Whitebeard, he had to reorganize and train up his fleet and he was given a special sake that cured his ailments. He was happy as a clam, you couldn't tell the difference between his smile and moustache.
Madara got a Lee Enfield 1914 with a scope, and a training guide. Bang and the others had to help him a bit with that one. He was a bit salty that I didn't keep my word. I apologized and asked him to show me what he'd learned up to that point when he had the time.
For some reason all our times matched, it was 22:00 or night time for all of us. 'Admin is pretty slick, I didn't even notice initially.'
Makarov Dreyar was happy as well, he got an Elixir and information of the dark guilds in his world. The Elixir removed negative effects on the body and strengthened the user. Genryusai Yamamoto, was also given a method to refine his use of Reishi even further. Bang got a slightly different Elixir, he said as if he was a few years younger and stronger by at least two times. Master Roshi, and Zeno got Elixirs as well. Odin got more knowledge about runes and an adoptive son Loki.
All in all we were pretty happy with our accomplishments. We called it a night soon thereafter.
*****05:45*****
I woke up quite excited. I would eat the eggs then head over to the dungeon early so I can maximize the gains from the dive. Morning ablutions taken care of, I got dressed in my usual clothes, and headed downstairs.
Made myself coffee, eggs and bacon. The eggs cooked in bacon fat were divine. I scarfed them down in no time. I washed up and left for the dungeon. I had stored the eggshells in the INVENTORY.
There was no queue to enter the dungeon like yesterday. There were a few people leaving the dungeon however. The guards were different from yesterday. They gave me the same pitying looks as the others upon seeing my shield and spear. 'I really need to learn how to enchant things. Also I need to plan out what I am going to build and the materials I'll need.' with that thought I was in the dungeon proper.
'Lets start with the M1911 and go from there.' What followed was a massacre on the first floor.
*****12:30*****
Six and a bit hours later I sat down for a break. I didn't waste time by going back to the starting corridor. I was safe enough in the damaged corridor. I reread the guide and it was stated that the dungeon can't spawn monsters from damaged walls. A few rounds into the wall took care of that.
I sat down with my back against the sot up wall. I took out my canteen and took a swig of water. Feeling refreshed and craving more water, I upended the canteen, and put it back in the INVENTORY.
For the first few hours I just used my pistol to take care of enemies. The noise attracted more to my location and so I just kept moving and shooting. The Auto-Loot function was worth every penny. The Jack Birds were once again hunted down. I marked the spawn area on the MAP and put on a timer for an hour after I killed one. The sensory range for the Jack bird is 15 metres, effective range for a M1911 is 50 metres. I just had to come back when it was time for it to respawn. I got 5 before I decided to see how this thing moves and behaves. It took an hour of playing hide and seek with the damn bird before I finally caught up to it long enough for me shoot it.
The way it moves is very unique. I always follows the patch of least resistance. It avoids other monsters, but if you're following it, knowingly or unwittingly, you'll be put on a collision course of a large group of monsters. It gets annoying very quickly. If you see one, your best bet is to take it out from range. Don't assume it hasn't seen you, it's just fucking with you.
'Let me check in with Madara and see if he's free.'
{Me: Hey Madara you have a moment?}
He replied immediately. {Yes}
He pulled up a live stream and we went over what he had learned. I corrected a few things and went over safety and maintenance. After-all you won't be able hit shit with a dirty rifle. It throws the accuracy off past 200 metres. Madara was very receptive to instruction. Teaching him how to zero the scope and adjust for elevation and windage manually and with the adjustment knobs on the scope didn't take as long as I expected. It also helped that he wasn't a spendthrift like me, so he had the magazines and rounds to learn quickly and efficiently. In about an hour he was grouping targets at 600 metres. I told him that the entire purpose of the rifle was to engage at range and he should keep practicing.
*****13:45*****
I moved on to the second floor. I would only stay on the first four floors until I can make or buy better kit. I mean I can buy some basic things right now, but why keep spending money on cheap shit when you only have to buy the good stuff once. I'm considering a naginata like Whitebeard. I prefer a straight blade though, easier to stab. A glaive would be ideal for me, now to think of all the features I would like to add to it. I'll look into the SHOP for ideas.
The goblins and kobolds got a bit more numerous. The groups were larger and more frequent. I went at them with my spear and shield, until they broke. Then I took out my shotgun and machete and went to town. Just No.1 birdshot was enough to take out a goblin or kobold and injure two or three others. The rounds reappear in my INVENTORY, I still have to load them manually. I think the weapons Admin has gifted me use exelia to resupply and regenerate ammunition. That's pretty awesome.
I came across a few adventurers and gave them a wide berth. I don't want to deal with other people right now. Thankfully the noise the M1014 was making attracted enough monsters to me that other adventures decided to stay away from the area.
*****21:00*****
I'm now in my room. I bought dinner from the SHOP and decided to get acquainted with my Runemaster skill. Taking out the first book in the series 'Runes for dummies' I also bought a bottle of vodka, hell it was cheap as fuck.
'It's going to be a long night.'
