Alec and Tobin took with them, the sleep potions prepared by Zain and the written plan of the mission. They went back to the secret lair, where the volunteered comrades were waiting. Zain had reminded them beforehand, not to exclude the girl kidnapped by De voe, from the equation. On getting to the lair, they met the comrades extremely annoyed with both of them, for keeping all of them waiting all night long in the lair. They were all complaining, everyone was talking at the same time, stakes were getting high, and some of them even left in anger.
"How could you Alec?" complained Ruby brusquely, "How could you just let this kid mislead you into abandoning your friends," she said to Alec, who stood there speechless.
Turning to Tobin, she said,
"After volunteering to help you satisfy your selfish aims this is how I'm treated in return."
"Guess what? I'm leaving," she said, in an attempt to leave.
