Mia's POV
Tonight, I wasn't in it for the glory. It made me feel special that he thought I was a model since he was attempting to flatter me. Even though we knew it was impossible, he was still trying. At the very least, that was a sign of respect from me.
I have to admit that standing there, I felt like a million bucks. Money is well spent, yet it's risky. My father was somewhere in the neighborhood of here and a half when Chris was born, so he was at least forty years older than my father. He didn't recognize me because he didn't know who I was. To my surprise, I'd arrived a day ahead of schedule. As a male, my father wouldn't be scanning the throng for my face.
What time is it going to be now? That's what I was trying to figure out. Home is where the heart is. I was eager to return to Chris's house.
"My apologies, but it's going to be a while. However, if you prefer, I can arrange for a taxi for you."
