Elizabeth's POV
I heard Willie moving around after everyone else had gone to sleep that night. Everybody but me, that is. The memory of Willie and I making love for the first time kept me awake as I lay in bed. It was a foregone conclusion in my mind. My heart pounded as I waited for him to come to my room for a peaceful midnight tryst.
In the meantime, as his footsteps drew closer, I exhaled and was disappointed.
I wore nothing but a tiny nightgown that clung to my curves as I walked down the street. Just long enough to keep me out of trouble with my parents, but not long enough to cover all of my basic needs, such as food and shelter.
