Aria walked downstairs and was greeted with food lying on the table.
She quickly went down to eat as she greeted her mom in the passing.
"Dear, food's here," Aria replied with a hum back to show acknowledgment.
She picked up her chopsticks and thought inside her head she revered that her mom basically looked the same the last time she saw her in her world.
There was no difference between the people of this parallel world except some minor details that in this world, her mom had the superpower to analyze and her dad had the ability to cook great food.
Ah— this was the taste of her dad's cooking.
It was still the same as ever before but she also still looked the same.
When she also looked in the bathroom, she was still the same with black hair that cascaded down her waist and eyes that curved in a smile with thin heart shaped lips.
Except that she grew tanner because the original owner had to go outside and camp frequently in the wilderness and that although her body is now probably even more unfit than her original body.
It still makes sense why even in this strength hierarchy of a world that revered the strong.
Don't even think that just because this world was heavily adamant on the revelation of heroes like they were some kind of god.
The original owner would exercise to battle monsters as it was the way that many people grew wealth to not only have a chance to earn money, finish mission cards to gain a foothold in the industry but also fight for their country to gain more power against the alien races of monsters that invaded their planet millennium years ago.
A backstory of this world was that millennium years ago there was a collision between Earth, our planet, and Orasis, the monster planet filled with high-intelligent beast-formed humanoids that can shape-shift to a beast and a closely resembled appearance to our own but with beast features.
That it expanded the planet 33 times its original size.
It caused a war between the humans and the beast when neither wanted to give up land and resources that were born from this collision when the humans started to manifest superpowers that were quickly rivaling the powers of the beasts.
That started this long lasting rivalry between the two that still persists till this day where humans would kill monsters not only for its rich resources but also the deep rooted belief that these two races can not cooperate together under the banner of a single world.
Which led to people who wanted to level up their superpowers, that were categorized in ranks, to quickly gain experience by fighting monsters.
There were other ways too but fighting monsters was the easier and cheaper method that the majority of the population opt to do while the rich wealthy upper class had the option for their kids to be able to help them through rare resources and alchemy products.
Unfortunately, but thank the world just a tiny bit that she unlocked an auxiliary support power of singing because it was a rare ability that can be used for a wide range of areas the voice can carry which was valued highly in society.
Especially in the hero community due to its usages and potential in actual battling where a song could actually turn the tides around.
The passage of time has shown the importance of the auxiliary super users where famed songstresses in history have turned tides over and immensely helped boost morals and superpowers.
For example, because of these big influential singers that helped a lot during war, the government, the academies and third parties always kept an eye on any new super users that manifested a singing power.
And although the superpower of singing had limitations that each person could only unlock at a maximum of there potential and historically five attributes were the highest they can be enhanced in their songs at a time.
Aria unlocked a hidden talent that was even rarer than her singing superpower.
It mutated her singing superpower to be able to have more than the historically known boosts and could link together through songs more efficiently and powerfully.
She was not limited to only five attributes but more and still counting.
Was the original owner the protagonist or was she?
Though draining, and harder it was to level up her superpower from the standard ranking level of G-tier to S-tier ranked superpowers with G-tier being the lowest and S-tier being the standard of powerhouses and highest ranking known to the public.
Aria was still at E-tier ranked for her superpowers because it took a lot of effort than her peers to level up because of the finite attributes that came along with her mutant hidden talent.
She had been going out to fight monsters with parties to level up her singing skills and give support.
Though because auxiliary superpowers were rare, they were coveted and treated nicely so they just supported the teammates in battle and only helped around a little.
Therefore, that was why the original owner was just as even more unfit than her because when she usually goes and fights, she stands away from the actual fighting and just sings a few songs just enough for her to practice her superpower.
And lay down when they were done in a safe clearing safeguarded by teammates.
Aria had done way more tedious walks than what the original owner had done through the wilderness!
She thought back to her memories that auxiliary super users were usually stuck-up and spoil because of the entitlement of these treatments that were given to them by the people around them when they found out about their super power.
That also included the fawning from inside the cities to the outside world of monsters.
So the end story was that she was insanely unfit and it wasn't entirely her and the original owner's fault either. This was not a personality issue at all!
She calmed herself n times that being lazy was fine and okay.
She was also still not that shameful that she was unfit because it was her unconscious and conscious decision to be one with laziness.
She was still human.
This society values strength above all even if there was a modern progression that followed in entertainment and city life behind walls.
That the technology advancement was centuries ahead from her old world to flying cars, phones that evolved to custom AI bracelets that hold your personal ID and information to VR games and such.
There was a fantasy aspect of it with superpowers and strength being much a part of society that being weak was looked down upon.
Though the exception of the auxiliary super users, who were generally weak and dainty but had great values in supporting, wasn't looked down upon.
As there was a saying that you should not make an enemy out of an auxiliary super user or you'll need to watch your back because they hold grudges then no other if they still had some humanity left in them, they'll help you last in consideration.
Aria did not believe in this superior thinking that although the original owner had some influences of some entitlement.
She came from a totally different world of the twentieth first century of a once laden salted fish that stayed at home and read novels late into the nights.
It was just the same as the original owner's hobby.
She finished her meal after a couple of minutes and continued thinking about what she should do for the remaining summer because unfortunately for her, she transmigrated in the middle of her summer vacation.
She planned that she would quickly finish some system missions to gain some standing so she wouldn't be too weak compared to her peers when she arrives at school.
She only had about a month of preparation left until her good days were over and she would go to school.
As she was 18 years old, the original owner did all the hard work of passing the entrance exam to Afaren Academy and took one of the admission spots through scholarships and the accountability of the rarity of her superpowers.
The reason why the original owner tried so hard to pass the exam was because the Afaren Academy is a wide-known prestigious academy that trains budding heroes and ironically she was going to attend this year's group of freshmen.
As a secret-undercover budding villain.
But it was fun and games like that as Aria contemplated that it would give her an alias as an Afaren student and it wasn't like there were no rules saying you can't be one or the other.
She giggled in her fantasy of shocking the world when she was powerful enough to reveal all her identities that she was a world-class hero and a terrorizing villain that made people clamp their cheeks to hold down theirs wallets when her mom broke her bubble.
"Aria when are you going to pack up and get ready to go to school?"
"Mom! I still have a month left to prepare, I already got my admission letter and uniform."
"Honey- you need to book your train ticket in advance. It's been weeks since the last time I told you to buy your ticket or else there might not be any available. If you don't have enough money, just let me know and I'll give it to you."
Aria nodded as she looked at her AI bracelet that showed a plasma screen of the available train rides to Epoch City.
She booked the ticket to go three days before the entrance ceremony. Which was plenty of time for her to play around and get used to the city for the rest of her summer.
She put the dishes away as she went back to her room to get ready to go to the city and see if she can finish any more missions to gain system points or rewards.
[ Mission tab: Newbie Guide to Stealing ]
Steal other people's attributes n times to get the basic requirement to enter the field as an G-tier villain.
—Click to see tutorial on how to steal attributes
Reward: {{ Unlock Villain Lair }} {{ 10 p }}
Oh, a villain lair for a reward that's enticing.
Hmm, Aria clicked on the tutorial to start finishing up her newest mission.
'…'
'Gatsby! Wait— this is also considered stealing? Isn't this way too overpowered?'
"Nya~ Not at all~ I mean this is what you signed up for… anyways a thief stealing other people's attributes for themselves is also just a villain move and we approve of that!"
This was perfect for Aria as she decided that since she came to this world, she'll be as overpowered as possible as soon as she can so she wouldn't be hopeless in face of danger when she wanted to help protect her people.
A classical mistake of protagonists who've transmigrated and was too powerless to stop the deaths of loved ones because they were too weak but had golden fingers within their reach.
She would not take such risks and gamble in a dangerous world like hers where monsters were rampant and there was still internal strife of super villains that didn't help it.
After she watched the tutorial on how to steal other people's attributes.
The method was that she would see the attributes of a person in an attribute radar but with her current level, she was only able to see one attribute of their highest.
The only way she'll be able to examine further attributes was if she just levels up her system accordingly.
When she wants to choose what type of attribute she wants to steal. She has to touch the other people for a set amount of time for each type of value the attribute had.
She can only steal one type of attribute at a time and depending on the person who she stole it from and the time duration, she can get more than one attribute point but she has to do it continuously as when interrupted or it gets stopped, the time resets and she has to wait.
And she can keep on stealing the same person after the cool down has passed which was 12 hours an attribute stolen from a person.
It was for the safety of the victim because she really had some heart in her even if she was still going to shamelessly steal other people's hard work. She had the ability too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
She obviously was going to use it but at least she was considerate.
Villain mentality already achieved check.
After all, attributes were formed from days, weeks, and years of dedication to gradually build up power and a good foundation.
However, Aria doesn't have that time or dedication.
She was really an all out salted fish.
She had that talent and a natural mentality.
Genius.
But considering that she had to touch or manipulate a scenario to touch other people accidentally.
She can already see her bleak future.
She already had a hard time knowing what to do for a hug or anything related to a person.
She wondered if people would notice if she went around hugging everybody and being clinging to random powerful people…
When she thought that she gained a basic understanding of her new skill.
She told her mom that she would leave for a trip outside the city to gain more experience.
"Okay Dear, just remember to sign in to the Association and find a reliable team, okay?"
"Alright Mom, thanks I'll see you later then."
She went to her room to dress but found out that the original owner's battle gear was basically a flimsy dress that just had some protection enchantments done by the store she bought it from.
There it hooked a silver chain across to hold her microphone, her main tool.
She stood there in contemplation. This was really not her style.
She hurriedly put it on because it was the only outfit that had a protection enchantment that was more suitable in the wild than normal clothing for city life.
She prepared some necessities in a bag, grabbed her main tool, and whipped it up over her shoulder as she left to go to a nearby transit stop to the Super Power Association.
It was time to steal!
