I didn't have time to think about this!
I looked past the pain covering my body from head to toe, and I started to pull myself out of the crater. It looked impossible for my upper body to carry my weight up this incline. I was more than certain this would probably end in three separate deaths... but who did he kill?!
I jammed my finger into the dirt and continued to climb, getting some on my face. I pulled myself up, feeling my muscles tighten as I supported my own weight. And then, I was hit in the face with a small rock.
"Twenty-Five Seconds left!" Zeus exclaimed. I dug my fingers into the dirt and rock and pushed myself more and more. This pain is temporary, and something I would willingly experience if it meant saving everybody.
I scaled the top of the crater and pushed my body upright as the [Cripple] effect disappeared. Zeus was at ten and I sat at the top of the crater, looking around to see who was dead.
Everybody was gone.
Maybe not dead, but I couldn't see anybody at all.
"Now that you're here. I'm sure you would like to know who made it and who didn't. Do you want to guess who is dead? I'll save Soul if you guess properly." Zeus told me.
I looked all around and couldn't see anybody. If I couldn't see anybody, how was I supposed to know who he killed...?
And as my head turned up toward the mountain. I understood.
The entire thing was blown off. Like a large blast that went straight through the mountain, incinerating anything that was left, including Ruby and Hex.
"You..." I mumbled, looking up toward the mountain. My head was completely empty.
"What? What did I do, Anima?" Zeus asked me.
I turned back from the mountain with an empty emotion in my mind.
So, it happened again.
I'm alone, again.
Everybody I spent time getting to know was now dead. He didn't kill only two people, he killed everybody. Everybody was dead. Just like with Joro… I lost Shima and Daria, and now, I've lost everybody I spent time getting to know.
Time and time again, this world was filled with nothing but torment.
"You want to know how I know so much?" Zeus asked me. I knew it. We were past saving everybody.
"I was the one who picked you to be reincarnated. I'm a Dimension Rifter. Do you know what those are?" He asked me. I was so uninterested in what he was saying that I sat on the ground, staring at my legs as he continued to talk.
"I picked you up and brought you here. Straight to Sieve. I was the one to tell Yggdrasil to give you a second chance. Hell, I'm so far ingrained into the inner workings of this world that there probably isn't a thing I haven't guided into your path so far. That's right, even Joro can't get to you because of me. All of your uncertainties, all of your events, they've been guided by me so far. How do you like that, Anima?" Zeus asked me.
"You planned everything? That reminds me of a book I used to read on my planet... on Earth, are you familiar with the name of it? Maybe you know it... but you should know something, Zeus. There was a lot of pain that followed my journey. It's rude of you to force me to go through so much. So, do I get compensation?" I asked him.
"Of course. Your compensation is that I get to take your soul and set you free. I get to pull all of your true potentials out of you. All of the skills you know, yet you won't use. All of the high-capacity attacks you haven't used yet. Everything. I can wield everything and I can become the highest-ranking Patriarch of all time! Doesn't that sound splendid?! Well, for me at least..." Zeus commented again.
"It does... what skill do you think you plan on using? I'd like to know before you take my body." I asked him in the same monotone voice.
"That's a good question. Probably [Beam]. It's an upgraded version of Bullet you know, and to be honest with you, I don't see myself losing when I use that. Even Amaterasu would be scared of me." He said.
"I see." I stood up and looked at Zeus, straight upward into his eyes and I smiled.
"Then, go ahead. But, wouldn't it be much more fun to play a game before I went? I'll make the rules." I kept the same monotone voice as Zeus nodded.
"Guess how many things I have in my inventory. Here's my hint, if you guess within the same hundred mark, then you win." I told him.
"Wow, probably an infinite amount, but if you know, the number must be pretty tiny. Probably between one hundred and two hundred, if I had to assume." Zeus said, waiting for my answer.
"That's close! Let me count for you." I counted up, thinking of a plan as I mindlessly increased the number coming out of my mouth. Once I got to one hundred and one, I stopped.
"So close! It's actually... just two." I told him. Zeus looked at me confused and with a raised eyebrow. Good, lower your guard, you shithead.
I pulled out both of my staffs coated in blood and used this skill he told me about. [Beam].
The strange thing about skills wasn't the way I learned them, it's the fact that I learned the most core thing about them. All skills come from a directory. Once you learn the words for the skills, you can use them. That meant if I guessed the word, I could learn anything.
No, that wasn't something a normal person can do. That was my Limit Breaker. That was ONE of my Limit Breakers. As I had access to all of those too. What I didn't have access to, however, was the amount of health, mana, and stamina it took to summon each one of them.
I kept it a secret this whole time, from myself, and from everybody else, in the small case that I had my memory wiped, I didn't want anybody to know it. My latent power is insanely broken. I was an over-powered magician, just as I read in all of the books in my world. However, the Limit Breakers I could wield would kill me if I used two. And I had to know the names of them if I wanted to use them.
The downside to everything about me is that I consume mana at the highest possible rate. Skills drain my mana like no tomorrow.
The one mistake Zeus made, now that I remembered these things about myself and found new ways to take down Zeus.
Was that I had nothing.
Zeus took everything from me, and I have nothing to lose now.
This means I can use two Limit Breakers.
