Look, see, right there on that island. Yes, there is Dyer Island, home to the world's best football league, the Dyer league. The league had no relegation, mainly due to the island being so small that it could only hold nine stadiums, not counting Hemled Prison f.c which was the tenth team on the isle.
It had become famous right at its beginning. It was established by four teams, Sadara f.c, Super Hangers f.c, Yuda f.c and Sayanpool f.c. These were considered as the maverick four to the island's football. These teams were truly world-class squads, well except one.
Yuda f.c was exceptional at the start, winning trophies here and there, but then their money was cut off by a corrupt leader that goes by the name of Hemled. The Yuda's with a lack of money could not upgrade their stadium, facilities or pay the player's wages. Many important figures left the team due to dissatisfaction. One of the top four had been demolished just like that. Luckily Hemled was imprisoned in Bay Prison, later named Hemled Prison after the famous money-loving politician.
Even with their money back, the squad struggled to get back to where it was, it was as if they were reborn. Just to prove my point, the last time when Yuda f.c won the league was thirteen years ago. Sad right. Well, this season they finished seventh out of ten while the rest of the mavericks finished above the fifth spot.
Fans lost their motivation to support the squad making Yuda's financial problems skyrocket. Still, those with a strong will to support their childhood club never gave up, like this young fella who lives right by the Bay Stadium.
Addel was a boy at the age of fifteen years. He was the only child born to the Jayzan family. Originally from the east side of the Isle, they moved to Bay Town not too long ago. Addel Jayzan was born in Bay Town's referral hospital.
He loved football as it was the bond on the island. Even some disagreements were solved by football. Addel started playing as soon as he took his first steps. By the age of three, he could dribble the ball like magic. His parents saw his talent but didn't have the money to enrol him on the Yuda junior program. The least they could do was train him themselves. Addel's father would play with him every weekend along with some friends that Addel would bring, they do say the more the merrier.
But that all changed when Addel turned eight. His, father a policeman, was getting ready to come home from work. Before he could do that he got a report that a convict had escaped the prison.
" I can handle him, right?" he thought to himself. From the report, he found out that the prisoner was coming to him, so he intercepted him. But the felon ran away as soon as he saw the uniform.
" Freeze in the name of the law," Addel's father said as they came to a dead-end." Drop your weapon and turn around slowly, I will shoot.". The man turned suddenly and shot the officer in the head. The gunshot alerted nearby civilians to stay away but the more daring stayed.
The body had been found an hour later. The father was given an honourable funeral. Ever since then, Addel could not play football. Just seeing the ball would flood back memories. His social status didn't fair well. He was now the unpopular friendless figure in school.
