Her footsteps echoed as she walked around the empty hotel room. She was checking every corner of the room as she was bored. She had sent a message to Matthew but she didn't get a reply.
When she passed by the floor to ceiling glass window, framing the overcast sky over that were towering the skyscrapers of the city, she pulled her phone from the pocket of her dress and snapped a photo.
The view outside the glass window looks cold. The same feeling she had in her chest she decided as she heaved a heavy breath. She had decided to return home and focus her time and energy at school. Being here with Matthew would not bring out something new to their already cold relationship.
Maybe she should accept that their marriage was nothing but a business deal. That there is now way for her and Matthew ever to develop a relationship more than what they currently are.
