"I think it is better I go and stay at Jade's place for a while," Cindy suggested as she packed a small and convenient bag. "I'm sure you will manage on your own here, right?"

"That's the problem, you keep saying you are sorry. Yet you do not change. It's as if you are going to be saying that to me for a lifetime Jake. I can't deal with that."
He had regained his ability to stand and walk, though his enabling came in doses. He could not straightway jump into heavy activity, he needed to take it slow and so far it was so good.
