There was quite a lengthy amount of time before the door opened and Jake appeared. He face lit up when he saw Jade, looked around beyond her hoping she wasn't alone. But she was.
"Don't bother looking. She is not here," Jade said as she walked in past him into the living area. "Her absence is the reason I am here Jake," Jade went on.
Jake caught up with her when she was already settled on the couch but by no means making herself comfortable.
"Where is she?" Jake probed.
Jade shrugged her shoulders. Jake could tell from her face that she was in distress. He pushed his wheelchair till he was close to her but still a respectable distance away.
"I know what I will say might upset you but I need you to remain calm," she said taking a deep breath before letting out "she was on Creek again last night. Now she might be missing."
Jake's mouth opened as shock invaded every inch of his face. "She was what? Now she is what?"
