Two Weeks Later
It's been more than two weeks since Liam came here. During this time, he and the others went to Arena religiously. It's not been long since they started but they could already feel the improvements. At first, after the first match most of the matches they fought ended with defeat. Juno got injured more than Michael and Liam combined. But she also won more solo matches than the both of them, and many times became the reason that they had a narrow win in a team fight.
Her fighting style was desperate and almost animalistic, due to years of living in captivity and being tortured. She fought like it was her last fight, causing a thousand damage to the enemies and suffering eight hundred damage herself. Although she won when fighting like this but mostly ended up injured and had to spend hours in the treatment cabin.
Lucien was training her to tame it down and he didn't want her to stop fighting like that but learn to avoid injuries. Liam was more used to fighting carefully and putting himself first. It wasn't apparent when he fought in the simulation cabin because he knew that getting hurt wouldn't hurt him in real life so, he wasn't that careful. But in real matches he was extra careful, it was good and bad both. Good thing was that he didn't get hurt and the bad thing was that he wasn't able to test his limits. Lucien had a headache when teaching him to be less careful.
Due to this surprisingly both him and Juno fought really well together, with Liam stopping her from getting hurt and her actively attacking.
The thing that surprised everyone was that after getting used to it, Michael was the one that fought the best. He was careful unlike Juno's battle crazy self and not overly cautious like Liam. Although he didn't always win like Juno, his fighting was a lot more stable.
Liam was a little butt hurt that he was currently the worst fighter in the group, after all he was a transmigrator. He was used to reading novels where the protagonist transmigrated and conquered the world. But it did make sense, he did grow up in a world where fighting was rare and peace was prevalent. He was considered violent there but in this world he was considered a peaceful and innocent kid. Many of his Grandfather's acquaintances thought of him as a prince who grew up protected in a castle. Like a kid who thought the world was full of brightness. It did annoy Liam a lot.
However this little setback didn't make him give up though, it just made him give 110% more. He was definitely the hard worker of the team. He fought 5 matches a day and exercised after coming back. Training with his grandfather, Juno and him teaming up against the man and refining his fighting skills. Unlike Juno and Michail, Liam didn't fight wildly. He fought using the martial arts he learned in his previous life, if there was one thing he was good at it would definitely be his ability to create skills. Due to him reading novels in his previous life, he was really imaginative in this regard.
Most of the skills in this world were known to everyone and their manuals were sold commonly. To make your own skills it took people years to come up with something. Usually only genuises had skills they made themselves. Skills you made yourself were also more powerful than common ones since they were according to your fighting style.
Although Liam's poisonous fog wasn't exactly that imaginative, but for his age it was amazing and it had potential to upgrade. Upgradable skills were really rare and powerful. Even now when they couldn't use skills except the racial ones, Liam had a diary full of ideas that he wanted to confirm when he could.
He was currently adding information to another diary where he recorded his progress and stuff so, he could see his improvements. He really wished he had one of those system panels that showed stuff like health, stamina, physical strength etc, but Demyx told him that it was currently locked, he might get it as a reward in the future though.
Demyx was rather free these days, other than watching Liam's training he usually just slept. Liam was worried about him sleeping so much after all, he was a dog not a cat. But Demyx said that he was currently undergoing his first transformation or something like that, Liam didn't really get it but was afraid of asking again. Demyx was really easily annoyed during this something. Liam was excited to see what he would become. He was looking forward to fighting alongside Demyx.
Lucien somehow found about it as well and was training Demyx as well. It wasn't as hellish as Liam's but definitely exhausting. Unfortunately Liam's dream of him and Demyx cursing his Uncle together was shattered by Demyx. Turns out that he was a really obedient student just like Juno and didn't think that Lucien was harsh at all. Michael and Liam just hugged each other and shared each other's pain.
----------
He wrote his diary, as he lay on his stomach on the bad. He was just back from the Arena. His whole body was aching, he thought he over did it. Usually all the aching would've stopped by now since his body's healing was really fast. He massaged his head as it throbed from pain.
Liam groaned as he felt someone jump on his back. He threw the pen on the bed and tackled Michael to the floor shouting a war cry, both of them rolling around on the floor wrestling and yelling. This has almost become a routine, they loved fighting. It was mostly due to their race effecting them. Dragons' playing was fighting and Michail's shift was one of the few rabbit races that loved fighting. Of course, it was just playful fighting.
Liam dodged as Michail threw a pillow at him, it ended up hitting an innocent bystander. The innocent bystander narrowed her eyes at Michail, then blocked Michail who was trying to run away and started tickling him.
"Stop! Hahaha... Kanna stop! I'm haha.. S-ha sorry."
Michail struggled in his sister's arm while Liam tried to quietly slip away. Unfortunately both of them were tangled so he also ended up in the one sided tickle down from Kanna. He was laughing crazily when during the struggle something ended up bumping onto his right horn. He groaned loudly, an electric shock running through his whole body. The aching before was nothing compared to the pain he was feeling right now.
Kanna stopped, she furrowed her eyebrows slightly as she looked at him. Michail also looked up, the rabbit ears on his head standing alert. Liam tried to assure them that he was fine when another shock went through his body and his bones started breaking. He could feel himself shifting, he tried to stop himself but he couldn't control it. He managed to stop before shifting fully but he was still partially shifted.
He hasn't shifted since he came to the City, since he was still young and his shifting was still a little unstable. He rolled on the floor with his knees in his arms, scales appearing on his body. He heared someone sit down beside and felt a cool touch on his head, a refreshing feeling flowed down his body. His grandfather was using his magic qi to stop the pain. It did work for a while before the pain came back tenfold. He screamed as he felt his bones breaking, his body trying to shift again.
He heared his Grandfather talking to someone, saying something he couldn't make out and he was picked up. He heared Michail's voice sobbing somewhere, and felt someone grab his hand tightly. He could somehow tell it was Juno, her hand tightly grabbing his. He had this urge inside to reassure her. To tell her not to worry, something inside him urged him. He tried to open his mouth but the pain was blinding. He slowly stopped hearing and feeling, surrounded by pain and darkness. Juno's hand grabbing his being the only thing he could feel.
He blacked out.
