Chapter 3 - Humans vs, Beasts

Looking at my stats, I was pretty satisfied, but I kept on wondering what these 'Stat Points,' 'Skill Points', and 'Comprehension Coins' after pondering about them for a few seconds, another screen popped up.

....

[Stat Points: are optional stat increases hosts can customize or add whenever they please]

[Skill Points: are the currency used in the skill shop for the host to gain new skills]

[Comprehension Coins: a currency that can be used when the host is having trouble comprehending a particular subject.]

[Note: Things that are more powerful or difficult to comprehend will cost more currency.]

....

I didn't realize these points could be so helpful. I should probably use my stat points now cause of how weak I am.

....

[Stats]

Stat Points: 3

Skill Points: 8

Comprehension Coins: 10

Vitality: 45/50

Mana: 40/40

Strength: 20

Agility: 30

Defense: 10

Intelligence: 105

Magic: 20

....

There we go. These stats should work nicely; after all, my most important stat is agility; my intelligence is probably this high cause of my past life, but I assumed since being a human gets you 100, I'm probably just as intelligent as most adults or other creatures. Still, my knowledge of this world is pretty lacking.

I'll have to read all the essential guides I got from my quest and leveling, but before I do that, let's check out this skill shop the system was talking about. "Hey, System, can you open the skill shop?" I asked.

....

....

My eyes Widened, almost falling out of my head; why? Are there so many skills! Well, I don't have enough yet for all of them although I want them all I should go for the more important ones.

Looking at all the available skills, I was pretty excited about when I could have all of them in due time. Inspect, Telepathy, Acrobatics, and Healing seem the most useful at the moment, and so do Night Vision, Stealth, and Dash.

Let's get Inspect, Acrobatics, Night Vision, and Dash. And there go all of my Skill Points. Well, ill see if I made the right decision later. First, let's take a look at these guides the system gave me earlier. Primary World and Basic Race Guide.

Opening the Basic Race Guide and activating my Night Vision, I start reading. Starting from Humanoids to Beasts.

///

Humans: One of the significant races, Humanoid, has a far greater population than any race and is good in many aspects, one of the more powerful races you'll encounter when exploring.

Dwarves: The smallest of the Humanoid races, Dwarves are master craftsmen, and some can make legendary equipment. They tend to stay in their homes smithing, and you won't see many of them when exploring.

Elves: They are known for their long lives. Elves can live for hundreds of years without any cultivation and are known for their magical prowess. You won't see them often, thus you have a slight chance of finding them when exploring.

Salamanders: Descendants of dragons known for their large size and firepower have a low population, but only a couple hundred of them are necessary to take down a small Human town or city.

Foxes: Known for their vast knowledge network compared and powerful magic capabilities, they make great spies or assassins.

Nagas: Having strange body types, they spend most of their time underground, brewing poisons and other deadly toxins and distributing them to other races.

Falcons: The leading couriers of the beast races transmit messages and have breakneck speeds. They can be fearsome, but they zoom past, trying to deliver their message most of the time.

....

///

I assume these are the primary races with enough intelligence to form a thriving civilization. All other races don't have enough intelligence. But this is only basic information about the primary races. I don't know how they work together or their relations.

I might get my answer after reading Basic World History.

///

It's widely known and spread that Humanoids are at war with the beasts because the beasts think that the Humanoid's way of life is dangerous for the ecosystem and that they are endangering it with their improper use of magic which is messing up the flow of magic for their power-hungry cities and kingdoms.

While Humans use cultivation for their power, all beasts use magic. Thus, beasts feel more connected with the flow of magic while humans are utterly oblivious to it.

Beasts are also known for their elemental affinities. They are born with the primary elements being water, fire, wind, and earth, but there are Lost Elements that are much rarer and difficult to control. Once mastered, one beast with a Lost Element can bring down cities and maybe even kingdoms by themselves.

But Lost Element beasts are incredibly rare and are only seen once every couple hundred years the main Lost Elements that are known are light, dark, sound, gravity, and psychic others can appear, but these are the main Lost Elements.

///

Well, I got my answer for elemental affinities, but how do I see my elemental affinities? I waited a few moments for the system but I didn't get any answer. Staring at my stats for a while I started to feel sleepy. Realized how dark it was cause my night vision made everything look like a day I should probably sleep for tomorrow. I slowly close my eyes and fall into the calm abyss of sleep.
