Vincent checks his outfit one last time and makes sure that he is looking good before heading towards the door of his room.
When he walks out of his room, he is shocked to see a bunch of butlers standing at his doorstep and bowing their heads like frogs.
"Young master, do you need any assistance, it has been a week since we last cleaned your room." One of the butlers says, with a deep bow. He is a middle-aged man who seems to be in his early forties.
Vincent shakes his head and replies with an awkward smile on his face, "Ahem... Thank you all for checking up on me, however, from now on, I shall clean my room myself, there's no need to bother yourselves in assisting me. If I need your assistance, I will call on you guys" Vincent says and gestures with his hand for them to make way for him.
"But young master!" However, before the Butlers can finish their sentence, Vincent vanishes from their sight, making them wonder how he disappeared within the blink of an eye.
...
"Phew... That was weird, I can't stand those old men, bowing their heads to me. What even annoys me the most is that they all stand at my doorstep every morning. If I didn't know mom better, I would have said that my mum had Butler's fetishes! I don't understand why there's no single maid in this house" Vincent curses inwardly as he descends from the stairs that leads to his room.
As expected, Mimi didn't give him a reply as they have not yet ended their squabble. Making Vincent feel a little sad and worried about her feelings.
When Vincent arrives at the living room, he sees that it is empty and all the gadgets seem to be switched off, making the living room silent like a graveyard. His heart clenches as he can't believe that his 16 years+ courtship with Hilda, ended in a single moment when she called off their wedding. It is a normal thing for him to grieve, after living with her like a couple and doing all the things that couples
do, except having sex.
He sighs in relief as the house is no longer chaotic like it once was. At the same time, he also begins to wonder how his life will progress now that he has a mana core. His former plan was to become a merchant and live a happy life with Hilda after their marriage, as he had expected the third tier of his system to be as simple and useless as the second tier. However, the third tier caught him by surprise.
The reason for his worries is that, Zadicus has stopped living in his mom's house for almost a year now, because Amelina kicked him out after Hilda told her most of the things he usually does to Vincent, with proof, as she couldn't stand his behavior anymore. He is also worried about Arthur, as he rarely comes home, ever since he started teaching in an academy that was created for humans and demi-humans, who have no affinity for magic.
Nonetheless, the thing that troubles him the most is his sister. She has always believed that he will sooner or later awaken his mana core. Thus, she decided not to attend the mage academy and instead stuck to her brother like glue. Making Vincent worry about whether his sister is into bro con relationships, as he has never seen her with any man or heard her talk about any man, but him. To overstate, she often beats her admirers to a near-death state.
He is not sure of what her reaction will be after she learns that he had awakened his mana core. After all, he is sure that his mom will inform her during their breakfast.
He shakes his head as he walks past the living room and moves towards the exit of the house.
Immediately he opens the door, he sees Versys, his mother's bodyguard, staring at him with a creepy smile.
Versys hasn't aged during the last few years, as he still looks like a man in his early 20s, with his thick brown beards and heavy beast gears that is always on his body, even when he is sleeping, making Vincent wonder if he also uses it to bathe. Versys is also the disciplinarian of his elder brothers, Zadicus and Arthur, anytime they offend his mom. Vincent has never tasted Versys's whip and he doesn't wish to taste it, after all, he is smarter than other teenagers his age.
"Vincent, how are you doing? Are you ready to leave now?" Versys asks in a stern voice. He is the only one who doesn't call him young master or show him any kind of special respect because Amelina treats him like a brother and he acts as a guardian to her children.
Vincent tilts his head and replies, "Yes, uncle I'm ready, please take good care of me" Vincent says and begins to follow Versys from behind.
When they arrive In front of the carriage that looks exactly like a car, a single wide door is opened and Vincent enters, followed by Versys.
When Vincent enters the car, he sees that the driver's seat is no longer occupied by a driver but instead by a humanoid golem, which is similar to a robot on earth. The golem is made out of a black material that Vincent doesn't know of, and some runes seem to be carved on its body here and there. The golem is fast, sensitive to human presence and is able to communicate efficiently. Looking at the golem, Vincent is guessing that it is one of Savina's creations because he has been hearing a series of explosions these past few days. Golems are as common as water but smart and efficient ones can only be created by powerful mages. Savina's golems aren't exactly the best but they are very smart and efficient despite their rough and scary appearance.
Suddenly, the golem turns its head and asks; "Where would you like to go, dear passengers?" As it says this, its artificial eyes scan his passengers.
Versys rubs his enormous beard as he seems to be frustrated, then he replies, "Take us to Deact Vale."
"Location confirmed," the golem replies and starts the engine of the carriage which is powered by mana crystals. They are the source of energy in Manov, they are usually gotten from crystal mines or mana geysers, where the flow of mana is abundant.
The moment the carriage has been ignited, the carriage begins to move, till it leaves the courtyard.
Meanwhile, as Vincent leaves, a tall girl can be seen holding a large food flask in her hands, while walking towards the entrance of Vincent's house. When she arrives at the doorstep, she clicks on the bell runes that are engraved on the wall. The runes only need to be tapped and the bells will begin to ring inside the house.
