Even though Vincent is seated in the carriage with Versys, his attention isn't within the carriage.
He is staring out through the window, as he admires the scene in front of him since he rarely goes out.
It's not like his mother denies him freedom, but he prefers to live an introverted lifestyle, as it is also the way he lived his last life before he died a pathetic death.
However, his body feels like he no longer needs that lifestyle after his evolution. He now needs a new lifestyle, since his last life didn't go according to his plan. In this new world where people are cruel to each other, a world where people enslave and slaughter each other like animals, Vincent quivers at the thought of the inevitable.
He has seen his mother slay and behead a few people before, and he knows that it is quite a brutal scene. His mother had never wanted him to see her cruel side, however, Vincent had always been curious as a child, and so he decided to check what was going on when he heard a lot of commotion in their courtyard on a particular day. He ended up seeing his mother cleaving off a group of prisoners' heads while she used magic to make the heads of the others explode.
Vincent remembered that his mom became worried after he saw her killing the prisoners, and she told him that the men were assassins that had tried to infiltrate their house, but unfortunately, they were caught by her guards. The brutal scene hadn't left Vincent's mind since that day, he knew that he had always been shielded by his mom, and he needed to get stronger. And the only way to get stronger was to utilize his system to the max, but what still confused Vincent was the stat that showed 'unlimited karma', and while he didn't know what effect the 'karma' had, he knew that it definitely wasn't a nice thing.
He was peeping through the window, staring at the passer-bys while he admired the glory of their kingdom. Deact vale was one of the most popular and influential cities in the Graven kingdom, and his mom held quite a high position here.
Vincent was gazing at the demi-humans and humans who were passing by, as their carriage was moving at a slow pace. When he looked down at his trousers, he saw a huge dent in his pants as well as a little pre-cum, as he had been imagining grabbing and pounding one of the elven women that were passing by.
He swallowed hard and tried to hide the huge bulge in his pants by tucking his legs together. Versys, who noticed Vincent's odd behaviour, furrowed his eyes and asked;
"Vincent, is everything alright? You seem to be uncomfortable." Versys asks with a worried expression since it is his duty to ensure Vincent's safety.
Vincent looks at Versys with an awkward smile on his face and replies, "I'm okay, uncle, I just need to use the bathroom." Vincent lies through his teeth.
Versys nods his head and replies, "We'll soon be there, hold on a little longer" Versys says, as he closes his eyes and crosses his legs in a lotus position, inside the carriage, which is when Vincent realizes that he is trying to refill his mana core.
While Vincent is trying to cure his boredom, a thought suddenly drifts into his mind. "I haven't tested my skill 'God's eyes' yet, I wonder how effective it is." Vincent thought to himself. Then, he mumbled; "Activate God's eyes."
Ding!
[God's eyes has been activated]
Immediately Vincent sees the notification, his eyes begin to burn like a torch as it glows yellow, while an overwhelming headache descends upon him. Vincent clutches his head in pain and tries his best not to make any noise so that he will not alarm Versys, who is refilling his mana core
After a few seconds, the pain dies down like it never existed, and Vincent lifts his head. However, when Vincent raises his head and opens his eyes, which are glowing yellow, his vision isn't the same as before, instead he begins to see everything around him in black and white. He also feels like he can see everything beyond his surroundings, and that his eyes are as sharp as a falcon's, but he doesn't know how far his eyes can reach since he is inside a moving carriage.
He also notices that when he stares at someone for longer than 5 seconds, he can see through the person's clothes, thus, allowing him to see the person's naked body. And at the same time, staring at the same person for more than 10 seconds, gives him the ability to see their skeletal figure, like an x-ray scanner. He wants to test out the skill much longer, but he feels weird using it on Versys. There is also the fact that the skill drains a lot of his mental energy.
"Deactivate God's eyes." Vincent mutters.
Ding!
[God's eyes deactivated]
Immediately his vision returned to normal, Vincent wiped away the beads of sweat rolling down his forehead, and he thought to himself. "Using this skill takes a toll on my mental strength which the system didn't mention before, I guess nothing comes for free. And I also need to learn how to use God's eyes properly, I'll do that when I'm in an open field. But, why will that god give me this skill as a gift, what does he want in return? Sigh, so many things about this system is still unclear to me." Vincent thinks to himself and shakes his head.
Abruptly, the carriage comes to a halt, and the cringey voice of the golem emerges once again.
"We have arrived at the destination, passengers." The golem utters and goes into sleep mode.
At the same time, Versys opens his eyes and glances towards Vincent.
"Vincent, we have arrived at our destination, you will enter that building that is painted red, I can't follow you inside for some reason. However, if you are in trouble, tap on this token." Versys says, as he hands Vincent a brown token with some strange runes carved on it.
Vincent nods his head and collects the token from Versys before alighting from the carriage.
Vincent puts the token inside his pocket and walks towards the large building, which looks like a small castle, making Vincent wonder who his master is.
