Chapter 7 - The Shocking Gathering

In the midst of the day, the noble families came to congratulate the Vesprech family on their newly ascended overlord, Lord Silver's father, Odin Vesprech, and his brother, Zorn Vesprech. Unbeknownst to every people, a divine child had been born into the family, a fact which is only known by the Kustav family, lord silver's sister's family means Zara and Rolf's family, and the Royal family who sensed the birth of the divine child. Among the guests were representatives from the Lancaster, Blackthorn, Silverwood, Goldenheart, Evergreen, and Kustav families.

The first to arrive was the Lancaster family, accompanied by an old man named Morvok Lancaster, he is the family head yet to retire, and his son, Matio Lancaster. They entered the gathering chamber where Odin and Zorn Vesprech, the two old men from the Vesprech family, were seated. Morvok joyfully hugged the two old men, saying, "Hahaa, brother Odin, brother Zorn, congratulations on ascending to the overlord realm." Beside him, Matio bowed respectfully to the Vesprech family and presented them with a small gift. He took out a vibrant, ginseng root from his spatial storage ring and said, "Congratulations, Sir Odin and Sir Zorn. Here is a token of my admiration. Please accept it." The ginseng was a rare 500-year-old red variety known to extend one's lifespan by up to 300 years, it is a rare treasure.

Observing this scene, the Vesprech family's old men exchanged glances. They realized that people attributed the extraordinary phenomena surrounding the Vesprech family to their ascension to the overlord realm. However, what others didn't know was that their grandson, the divine child, was the true cause.

In understanding, the Vesprech family nodded at each other and clarified to the Lancaster family, "Brother Morvok, we are not celebrating solely because we awakened yesterday. We are celebrating the birth of our first grandson who has newly come into this world, and blessed us with his divine presence"

The Lancaster family members looked at each other in surprise. The old man exclaimed, "Brother, don't tell me that the phenomenon behind the Vesprech family is due to the newborn child. Are you saying that you ascended to the overlord realm because of your grandson?"

With a sigh, Odin Vesprech replied, "Yes, what you said is absolutely true. Our grandchild triggered our breakthrough."

Morvok, the old man from the Lancaster family, spoke in a tone of astonishment. Being an old man, there were few things that could surprise him. "Brother Odin, are you telling the truth? Can I please see your grandchild for a moment?"

The Vesprech family's old men looked at each other and replied, "You can he will come with my daughter-in-law in a moment, but brother Morvok, please do not tell others about it. This is a core secret of our family. I trust you since we have known each other since childhood, so I am sharing this with you." Thus, Odin and Zorn began recounting the legendary tale of their grandson, and the two guests from the Lancaster family listened with wide-open mouths.

After an hour or so, the other noble families, including the Lancaster family, welcomed the Kustav family, who arrived with, Rolf and Zara's daughter Ember, and Rolf's father, Howert Kustav, accompanied by his granddaughter, joined the gathering. They had already been informed about the Vesprech family's legendary grandson, through a messenger sent by Rolf and Zara, who is in the Vesprech family from yesterday.

Howert greeted the old men standing beside the Lancaster family, saying, "Brother Odin, congratulations. Congratulation, Brother Zorn. Greetings, brother Morvok." As Howard looked at Odin, Understanding Howard's intention, old man Odin nodded and said, "Yes, they know about him."

Beside him, a young lady named Ember extended her greetings to the old men from the Lenchester and Vesprech families. "Congratulations, Grandfather Odin. Congratulations, Grandpa Zorn," she elegantly addressed them. Ember, a beautiful girl of 16 years, possessed a refined and graceful demeanor befitting her noble status. Her voice carried the refined eloquence befitting a noble. Her mother Zara Kustav had been stringent in her upbringing, ensuring Ember received a thorough education in etiquette and noble conduct. Currently, Ember was enrolled in the prestigious magic academy located in the capital of the empire, which was a two-week journey from the Steinberg Kingdom.

Her family, the Kustav family, held a prominent position as one of the twelve noble families in the Steinberg Kingdom. These families included the influential Lancaster, Hawthorne, Montclair, Ashbourne, Evergreen, Blackthorn, Silverwood, Vandermere, Goldenheart, Nightshade, and the Vesprech family. Each Noble family played a vital role in the kingdom's affairs, wielding power and influence in their respective domains.

After exchanging greetings and pleasantries with the noble families, Ember excused herself from the gathering. Her heart filled with anticipation as she embarked on a quest to find her mother. The news of her newly born cousin had ignited a strong desire within her to meet the little one. Ever since she learned about the arrival of her cousin, Ember had persistently pleaded with her grandfather, Howert, to take her to her aunt's house to see the baby. However, her grandpa, concerned for the infant's well-being, had advised her to wait until morning, as it was late at night and the baby needed rest.

Ember eagerly rose early in the morning, unable to contain her excitement. The thought of holding her precious little cousin in her arms consumed her thoughts. Little did she know that her cousin's mother, a fiercely possessive woman named Sonkun, was utterly obsessed with her son until the day he was born, the attraction she felt from her child-like otherworldly, it was like they are born to meet each other. From that day she had a strong aversion to anyone else holding him, fiercely protective of her son, and she was unwilling to let anyone else hold him not even her daughters.

Following in the day after the Kustav family, the Blackthorn, Silverwood, Goldenheart, and Evergreen families arrived almost simultaneously like they are comparing with each other who will be the first one to greet the Vesprech family. They sighed in disappointment when they saw that the Lancaster and Kustav families had arrived before them snatching the first place. One by one, they greeted each other, acknowledging the significance of the occasion.

As all the noble families gathered in the grand hall, a sense of happiness filled the air. Suddenly, a guard rushed into the hall, his face filled with panic. He urgently announced to everyone, "Sir Odin and Sir Zorn, His Majesty King Von Steinberg has arrived!" This unexpected message sent shockwaves through the crowd, causing their hearts to race with anticipation and curiosity. Each person wondered in hushed tones what could have prompted the king's visit. Why would His Majesty grace this occasion? Could it be that the recent ascension of the Vesprech family to the overlord realm held such significance in the eyes of the king? These thoughts raced through their minds as they hurriedly made their way toward the gates, eager to be the first to welcome the king.
