Chapter 8 - In Banquet Hall

After the arrival of King Von Steinberg, a wave of excitement and respect swept through the noble families gathered. the families eagerly approached him, bowing respectfully and greeting him, "We greet Your Majesty."

The two elder men from the Vesprech family, Odin, and Zorn, stepped forward to welcome the king. With a deep bow, Odin addressed the king in a humble tone, "Your Majesty, we welcome you to our humble abode." King Von Steinberg's voice resonated with respect as he acknowledged them, "Good, good. You two elders have finally broken into the overlord realm." It was widely known that disrespecting an overlord mage was taboo, even for the king. Thus, even the king had to approach them with sincere reverence, for they possessed immense power.

In a humble tone, Odin Vesprech replied, "Yes, Your Majesty. After gaining enlightenment, we were able to break through." After some time conversing with each other, the king took his place in the distinguished VIP seat of the gathering. He raised his glass and offered a toast, saying, "We congratulate Elder Odin Vesprech and Zorn Vesprech on their remarkable breakthrough." Everyone present followed suit, raising their cups and cheerfully saying, "Congratulations," before taking a sip of their wine, marking the official beginning of the banquet.

Amidst the joyous atmosphere, conversations filled the air as everyone happily chatted, savored delicious food, and shared merry laughter. in a separate room, Lady Adaline sat in front of a mirror, being attended to by her three maids as they applied her makeup, she looked at Zara from time to time, Zara stood nearby, cradling little Xin Yang in her arms.

Zara was already dressed in a stunning kimono that perfectly matched her beauty. On the other side of the room, the two Vesprech sisters, Misha and Alisha, along with their cousin Ember, watched the sleeping Xin Yang intently. At first, seeing the infant, Ember couldn't contain her desire to hold her cousin, but her mother, Zara, denied her request, stating that Aunt Sonkun was fiercely possessive of her precious baby and didn't allow anyone else to hold him, not even her own biological daughters.

Ember sighed with regret, realizing that she was not the only one who was denied this privilege. The two Vesprech sisters had begged their mother countless times to hold their little brother but were met with rejection as well.

Meanwhile, Lady Adaline finished dressing up and swiftly snatched her precious treasure from Zara's arms. She cooed to her son, saying, "My baby, I hope you didn't get bored in your aunt's arms. Mama is here now, so you don't have to worry." Zara's mouth twitched slightly, and the Vesprech sisters exchanged knowing glances, silently sharing a lighthearted moment as they leaves the room.

Shortly after, Lord Silver and Lady Adaline entered the banquet hall together, the former wearing a black attire and the latter donning a red and black kimono. Lord Silver complimented his wife, saying, "Honey, you look stunning in those clothes." Lady Adaline replied without changing her expression, "Well, I wanted to show my baby how beautiful his mother looks." Lord Silver's mouth twitched a couple of times, sensing the change in his wife's behavior since this morning. He attempted to ease the atmosphere by suggesting he could hold the baby if her hands started to hurt. However, he quickly retreated after receiving a threatening glare from his wife. He muttered to himself, 'Well, that was awkward.' Being a mage, he understood that his wife is stronger than those of ordinary women.

As Lord Silver and Lady Adaline entered the grand hall, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement and merriment. Guests mingled, their conversations filled with joy and laughter. The Vesprech sisters, Misha and Alisha, along with their cousin Ember, had already taken their places, engaging in lively discussions with other young attendees. Zara and Rolf, Lady Adaline's sister-in-law and brother-in-law, were conversing with other guests, their presence adding to the festive ambiance.

As the couple made their way through the hall, Odin Vesprech, the retired head of the Vesprech family, stood up from his seat, catching the attention of everyone present *cough*cough*, A brief moment of silence ensued as all eyes turned towards Odin, eager to hear what he had to announce. Odin cleared his throat, his commanding presence capturing the attention of the room.

"Everyone," Odin began, his voice carrying a hint of anticipation, "today we gather to celebrate two momentous occasions. I will say, the Vesprech family has achieved a significant milestone by ascending to the overlord realm. This accomplishment is a testament to our dedication and pursuit of power, but this is not the main occasion"

Whispers and murmurs filled the hall as the guests contemplated the significance of the Vesprech family's achievement. However, Odin's pause left them curious, prompting conversations among the attendees.

"I wonder why they consider it their second priority, aren't they happy they got two overlord class mages, we have only one overlord in our entire family," a handsome man remarked, his gaze fixed on Odin.

A lady nearby chimed in, "Perhaps there is another reason, something they haven't announced yet. We can only speculate."

Meanwhile, an elderly gentleman sitting beside the middle age couple, replied " I recently learned an interesting piece of information about the Vesprech family. They got a grandson into their lineage just yesterday. It's possible that they are about to make the announcement now. Son you should consider arranging a marriage agreement with your daughter and the Vesprech family's son. many families will seek to establish a connection with the Vesprech family through marriage. We must act swiftly to secure the benefits that such an alliance would bring."

Like this lot of conversations erupted throughout the hall, with guests discussing all types of topics. The buzz of excitement grew, intensifying the anticipation for Odin's next words.

Amidst the whispers and speculations, Odin continued his speech, his voice filled with pride and joy. "And foremost, we gather to celebrate the birth of our first grandson, a blessing bestowed upon our family by my daughter-in-law. Please join us in showering him with your blessings."

As Odin pointed towards the couple standing in the center of the room, the attention of the entire assembly shifted to Lord Silver and Lady Adaline. The guest's eyes met the sight of a handsome middle-aged man and a stunning lady adorned in a vibrant red kimono, cradling a precious infant in her arms.

A collective gasp of delight and surprise escaped the attendees, their expressions filled with adoration. The room was filled with a sense of warmth and affection as the guests directed their attention toward the adorable newborn.

King Von Steinberg who was sitting on the VIP seat said inside his head 'Finally, he is here, from the moment I entered this house I sensed a gaze always staring at me from the distance, I thought some senior elder from the empire came to see me but after thinking about it thoughtfully the mysterious divine child popped in my head, I instantly guessed who it is.' with that he got up from his seat and approached the newborn who is filled with mystery.
