Chereads / My Unfamiliar Husband / Chapter 7 - Confront

Chapter 7 - Confront

Marigold clasped her palms as she quietly waited in the coffee shop. Raymart Javiera agreed to meet her even though there was a tremor in her chest, she was still excited to see this man's face. Too many imaginations are playing in her brain.

'Is he handsome? How old is he? Thirty? Forty? What is his job? I couldn't really remember his face.'He might be rude and he might accuse me for taking advantage of him.'

She sighed. Moments later a message suddenly appeared on the phone screen.

"What are you wearing? Please describe, I'm already inside the shop."

She sighed again. "Mint green shirt, short hair," she replied to the message.

"Copy."

He was given water in no time. She was nervous about this man.

"Ms. Marigold Cruz?"

Marigold looked up. Their eyes met the man's. He was staring at her like there's something wrong and like he's one of the judges in the talent shows. His gaze was very critical and he even narrowed his eyes.

Familiar. Isn't it?

Gold stood up. " Are you the man at the MRT Boy queue? Who insists that you fell in line first before me?"

He chuckled. "Yes, that's me."

"Wow, I really don't expect us to meet again. I'm sorry when it happened that I fought you at the train station huh?" Marigold was unable to look directly into the eyes of the person she was talking to. Until now, he still looks critical of her. He's not even speaking except when he ordered coffee for the two of them. The world is so small, she still can't breathe until now because of his reunion with this man who was so enticing that day when they were crowded inside the train.

"Is that still the way you use perfume? Is Versace the brand then?" she curiously asked as she remembered his pleasant smell that day.

Raymart just shrugged. This kind of conversation is too boring for him, since he only goes to the coffee shop when he has a meeting with an important SLI client.

He did not respond to Marigold's apology. He doesn't care if she calls him arrogant. It's such a waste of time.

"You're not deaf, are you? I'm sorry," she whispered to him to ask for apology.

He remained silent.

"Sir, enjoy your order."

The waiter smiled as he served two cups of caramel macchiato.

"Thank you." That was the only time Raymart spoke again.

Marigold was slightly taken aback. "Are you so mad at me? You weren't that embarrassed at the train station back then. If you only knew, after that ride of mine, what happened to me was very bad."

Raymart raised an eyebrow. In her words, she was trying to ask for sympathy. And who assumes that?

Raymart sighed again after sipping the cup of coffee. "That's your karma."He  even managed to smile.

"Huh? And how did you say that's my karma? You're the only undisciplined person in the queue." Her cheeks warmed at Raymart's point.

"You know, even if I don't know you, I can already guess what kind of attitude you have. You're the type of person who talks loud before thinking. And one more thing, Ms. Marigold, if you can't move on to the train scenario, then I can't move on when you call me at midnight and you begged me to propose to you. " Raymart narrowed his cast gaze at Marigold.

She backed away slightly and rolled her eyes. She really hates everyone telling her that she's not thinking.

"You know, I only did that because I was drunk. I broke up with my boyfriend because I was late for our date and it's your fault because you preceded me in the queue! He was bored so he left me!" Marigold's lie.

She didn't know why she made that lie but as far as she knew, she was disgusted with him to the point that she wanted to beat him up.

Raymart looks as arrogant as he used to be but he has a right to do so. Wearing this simple maroon shirt is a good thing and every facial expression is very formal.

He was even more handsome to smirk at her.

'Stupid.'

"Lame reasoning. That's superficial. No wonder why you broke up, he's superficial and you're also very superficial.

It was as if her ear was ringing at what Raymart had said. Does he have a right to assume that thing as if he knows the truth?

"Wait wait, why is the conversation going to another topic? You look crazy," Marigold growled.

"It's simple. Because I want to know from whom you got my number," Raymart replied coldly.

Marigold was caught in her own senses. "My goodness! You're still asking, you're so desperate to find a wife, the old woman gave me your calling card. She said you're looking for a wife, I'm just curious if it's true. I didn't think we would dare and I was just drunk so I called you. I hope you understand and don't scare me that you will sue me. "

Raymart frowned at the girl's revelations. If his suspicion is correct, then Mrs. Chanda is the mastermind of everything. She will really do everything so that he doesn't stay together with Clarize.

"Okay, go ahead. I think we should end this conversation. It's so useless and FYI, I'm not looking for a wife. I will never waste my time for that, I'm not unlucky in love like you," he lied too.

He quickly sipped the remaining coffee from the cup. "I won't charge you, please delete my number. Bye."

Marigold was just stunned when Raymart left the table and went out of the coffee shop. On the other hand, she regretted when Raymart said he was not looking for a wife.

'What a waste. You're handsome, I'm sure you're happy with the relationship you have. But with your attitude, it's as if you've been abandoned!'

She dismissed thoughts regarding Raymart. Because her coffee is cold and it's a pity if she doesn't enjoy the taste of it.

'Does it taste like him? It's so yummy.'

When she took the cup, she choked because the coffee was still hot.
