Chereads / Secret Love of A School's Heartthrob / Chapter 2 - She Knows Me

Chapter 2 - She Knows Me

After a long day of class after class, the school was finally over for the day.

Evan carried his bag and hurried out of the classroom, ignoring all his friends. He approached the school gate and once again, his gaze swept around his surroundings. In no time, he spotted the girl he was searching for.

There she was - Aviana Valos, the girl whom he liked secretly for the past two years!

When Aviana walked past him, he slowly followed her from a distance. This was his plan every Thursday evening - following her around.

Aviana Valos was no ordinary girl. She was the only daughter of Valos Group, one of the top corporations in Erasia. She was also in her final year, which made her Evan's classmate.

Despite being in the same year, they were never in the same class in the past two years as they were divided into many sections due to the huge number of students in each year. It was only in the current academic session that Evan was in the same section with Aviana. As high schools were three years courses in Erasia, they were both in class 3-B.

Maybe because of this, they were like total strangers. As far as Evan could remember, they had only talked to each other once; and it was when a teacher asked Evan to tell Aviana to meet her in the faculty three days ago.

Aviana Valos was quite a beauty. With a V-shaped face, a perfectly straight nose, soft full lips, black long hair, and enchanting brown almond eyes; she was considered one of the most beautiful girls in Gledville High. She was also quite tall at 172 cm.

She may not be the number one beauty on the campus; but with all her great family background and good grades, she was very well-known in school. However, these traits were not the reason why Evan fell for her. When he first set his eyes on her, he didn't even know her name!

Aviana was the quiet type who never talked much. She didn't have any close friends and she didn't participate in any club activities either. All she did was study. It must be the reason why she always secured the top marks in their class.

The worst fact for Evan was that Aviana was already taken!

Levi Carson, the only son, and heir to the prestigious Carson Group was her boyfriend. They were together even two years ago and Evan wasn't sure of how long they had been dating each other. Not to mention that Levi was handsome and popular just like him.

Aviana and Levi were together most of the time. They came to school together by car, spent lunchtime together, and went home together again by car. For Evan, the only time he could see Aviana alone was Thursday evening.

Levi Carson was very interested in Photography and he was also the President of the school's Photography Club. The club members always had some gatherings cum meetings on Thursday after school. Then Aviana would go home alone every Thursday.

Rather than taking the car, Aviana always roamed around the local market whenever she had the chance to go home alone. She would visit many stores and tried many foods from the food market. At times, she even helped out some old-aged vendors in their work, despite her luxurious upbringing.

Whenever Evan saw her talking to the stall owners with an angelic smile on her face, he was in awe. It was such a rare scene because Aviana never talked much in school. It might be the reason why he loved to follow her around every Thursday evening.

Just to watch that rare scene.

Evan always watched the scene from afar. He never forgot to clear his schedule for Thursday evening if possible. Plus, he had never forgotten that he fell for her one Thursday evening two years ago.

When he witnessed Aviana's beautiful smile and her kindness to the old-aged vendors, his heartbeat became very fast and the next second, he realized that she had already captured his heart! He stared at her and smiled like a fool!

From that time onwards, her beautiful smile was engraved in his heart.

Even this time, he followed her and stared at her beautiful smile from a distance. Two years had passed and he found it strange that nothing had changed, except his feelings that were growing stronger day by day.

Nevertheless, Aviana remained the same. Why did she always do the same thing each Thursday? Was she not bored of it? The local market and food stalls were nothing special and it was always strange to see someone like her in that place. After all, she was the daughter of Valos Group.

Once she finished roaming around the market, Aviana would always ride the bus to go home. This was also one thing that confused Evan.

The only daughter of a conglomerate and a bus weren't a great match.

Nevertheless, he would always stare at her from a distance until the bus Aviana rode was out of his sight.

Just like every Thursday evening, the process repeated itself. Evan Livares watched Aviana talking to the vendors and helping them happily.

Seeing her smiling happily always made him smile too but... when she smiled, he always sensed a hint of sadness in them. He also found it strange that he felt this way.

Evan watched as the bus Aviana rode disappeared from his sight. With a genuine smile on his face, he let out a breath and returned to the market. When he saw the vendor whom Aviana often helped out, he decided to talk to them and help them out a bit as it was still not that late. Before this, he used to help them from time to time when he wasn't busy.

"How are you, Mrs. Allen? Is your business doing well?" With a little smile on his face, he politely asked the old lady who was selling some dishes that she made personally.

With every single strand of her hair turning grey and wrinkles all over her body, Mrs. Allen was already in her 70s.

As Mrs. Allen saw Evan, her old face brightened up, making the wrinkles on her forehead more obvious. "Oh! It's the handsome boy again. I haven't seen you around lately."

"We had a summer vacation and I traveled to another city with my mother and younger sister." Evan put down his bag and washed his hands as he replied to the old lady. Then he wore the apron. "How can I help today?" He asked with a friendly smile.

Mrs. Allen exchanged the smile and then handed over some carrots to Evan. "Then help me chop this." Evan nodded and started working on it right away while Mrs. Allen went to the warehouse behind to pick up some ingredients.

"Aren't you Evan Livares?"

In an instant, Evan halted whatever he was doing! He clearly recognized the beautiful and calm voice without even looking at the person!

Why won't he when he spent the last two years watching over her?

The popular Prince Adonis needed a few seconds just to gather the courage to lift his head so that he can look at the girl he liked! And when he finally did, he saw her standing before him with a confused face.

It might only be the second time she was this close to him and... he could already feel his heart beating faster and faster once again!

"You know me?" was what he asked her after almost a minute!

Though it looked like a silly question, it was the question that bothered him for two long years!

She was never interested in other people. She never looked at him nor talked to him. She never watched his basketball match unless it was the school sports.

Will she even know him? Was she even be aware of his presence?

"Of course. Who wouldn't know the Prince Adonis of our school?" Aviana Valos blurted out.

Evan was so popular in her school that every single student, from freshman to senior, knew him. But...

Why did he ask her such a question? Was he crazy?

Unbeknownst to Aviana, Evan sighed in relief on the inside.

'She knows me.'

'She knows my name.'

He reassured himself on his mind again and again.....
