Leon 1:00am

I was just relaxing and jamming to my playlist. Yes, I do both at the same time. When I heard it. The squeak of the beast.

I slowed turned around, eyes wide. To see the hideous creature scurry around my living room.

Without a second thought, I ran out of my apartment slamming the door shut and sitting while leaning on the wall. I may or may not have squealed like a little girl before I left the living room.

Tears streamed down my face, I thought I'd be over this fear already I can't let go. I sat there for an eternity.

With the sound of a door being shut quietly I looked up, at a boy who seemed to be about my age our eyes met.

With that quick glance, I looked down cheeks flushed with red, how embarrassing.

"Why are you crying outside your door?" The boy asked.

I looked up at him before answering.

"There's a mouse in my living room."

He raised an eyebrow.

"You can't be serious," he said. I looked back down burying my head in my knees. I heard a quiet sigh before I felt something grab my wrist, it was him, he was wearing a serious expression.

"Give me your keycard." he commanded. I pulled it out of my pocket with no hesitation and handed it to him. he stood up still holding my wrist, gently pulling me up.

He swiped the card and walked into my apartment pulling me.

"What are-" I started but he quickly put his free hand over my mouth. He shot me a short glance before removing his hands from both my wrist and mouth. I frowned a bit at the loss of warmth on my wrist.

Quietly he stepped forward. I just stood there watching him when all of a sudden he quickly dropped to the floor and grabbed something. That's when I saw it, the evil thing. The mouse. struggling while the boy held it by its tail.

I followed him as he took three swift movements then opened my window and throw the beast out.

We watched as it fell and landed on some old man.

"AHH, there's a mouse on my head." he began to run around in circles like a mad man. We turned towards each other and burst out into a fit of laughter.

After we had both calmed down I walked him over to the kitchen so he could thoroughly wash his hands.

I sat on the counter beside him just waiting, I hadn't realized how much I'd been staring until I heard him speak

"Like what you see huh?" he said turning to me and winking. I felt the heat crawl up my cheeks I turned to the side. "In your dreams," I said scoffing to hide my embarrassment. He chuckled. It sounded nice. Wait what am I thinking?.

He placed his hands on both sides of the counter traping me there.

"I'm just messing with you,"

"Whatever." I said he smiled and messed with my hair moving to the side allowing me to get down. I walked him to the door and we just stood there for a moment.

He offered me his hand.

"I'm Keith."

"Leon."

"Cute name. We should do this again sometime."

"I'll let you know the next time there's a mouse in my house." We both chuckled.

I watched as he opened his apartment door waved and walked in.
