Chereads / Maid To The Prince / Chapter 47 - Chapter 47

Chapter 47 - Chapter 47

Aurora woke up the next morning and when she turned, Caspian was not there she started to feel sad,

"I'm here."

Aurora turned and saw that he had scrolls, "Oh…"

"I decided to do my work in here, I hope you don't mind."

"I don't." she blushed at how quickly she had answered his question. She leaned back and watched him work, she was enamored with him.

"Do I look that great?" Caspian asked her with a bit of humor in his voice,

"Yes, you do."

Caspian looked at her then and raised an eyebrow, "Do I."

She nodded happily,

"Stop distracting me, I don't want to stop my work to lay with you."

"Of course." She winked at him.

He grinned, "I love this side of you."

"Why thank you."

She leaned back,

"Aurora, Aurora wake up."

She opened her eyes to see Caspian seated next, "I was getting worried that you have been sleeping for so long. You need to eat."

"What time is it?"

"It's past noon."

Aurora watched Caspian as he took a bowl from the table next to him. When she reached for it from him he withdrew it from her, "No I will feed you."

Aurora was surprised and she wanted to burst out laughing, "Thank you but I can eat on my own."

Caspian pouted and she burst out laughing, "Fine you can if you really want to."

She could see that he was excited at her agreeing to let him feed her, if people saw him like this they would not believe her.

"Are you really that happy?"

"I told you Aurora, I want to make up for everything that we missed out on when we were apart."

She understood what he meant as life would still not be enough for them, "I love that."

She saw Caspian smile with adoration, and he fed her till the last spoonful.

"I have to go I will be back tonight," Caspian said and she could see he was feeling wretched about leaving her.

"I understand." And she really meant it, as long as she had his heart she couldn't stop him from his destiny.

When he left she immediately called Eleanor and she came instantly, "Yes My Lady."

"I need to take a bath."

"I will tell them to prepare it for you."

"Thank you, Eleanor."

When the bath was ready she sat in the water soaking herself, she smiled at the thought of Caspian coming later.

She was really grinning like a five-year-old that is promised candy, but Caspian was like her candy. Nothing mattered anymore, as long as she could have him by her side as long as he would like was all that mattered.

She prayed that he would not get tired of her, if that day came she would be heart broken, but she had to push out such thoughts from her mind.

That day hadn't come and she would take it one day at a time. She finished bathing and went back to her chambers.

Eleanor helped her get dressed into a fresh nightgown as she hadn't recovered fully and needed to rest some more.

She woke up to someone stroking her hair, and it was Caspian.

"Sorry I woke you up."

"Don't be, I am happy to see you."

She sat up and smiled at him, "How was your day?"

"Same old, all I had in my mind was when I could come back and be with you, my love."

Aurora's heart beat fast, she loved him calling her, "I waiting for you too Caspian."

His eyes lit up, "I love when you call me by my name. This is the only time I am truly happy to be called by my name."

He leaned in and kissed her but she pulled away and he was surprised, "What's wrong?"

"I don't want you catch my cold."

She was stunned when he leaned in again and kissed her, and Aurora pulled away once more, "You will really catch my cold."

"I will take it away then."

He leaned in and he kissed her properly this time, it was a lover's kiss and she felt it all the way to her toes.

The next morning she woke up to Caspian gone and it was odd, she wondered if he had an urgent meeting or worse he got in trouble because he was with her.

When night time came and she still had no word from Caspian she began to worry, she wanted to check but she was still sick.

The next morning when Aurora woke up and got fright when she realized it was Caspian.

"You are awake."

"Yes." She replied and could see that Caspian was distressed about something.

"Is everything okay?"

He averted her gaze, "I don't know how to say it."

"You can tell me anything Caspian."

"I have to go with Nadia for a couple of nights to Gloucester."

Aurora felt as if a cold bucket was poured over her but she hid it very well, "That's fine, I will be waiting for your return."

"I will make sure to come back to you as soon as I can, I am dreading not seeing you every day."

"As long as we are under the same moon and sky is all that matters."

Caspian placed his hand on her face, "I will be counting the days until we reunite." And he placed a kiss on her forehead, and she closed her eyes savoring the moment as she did not know when he would be returning to her.

The next morning she sat outside her villa, and she knew her hopes were not in vain. Caspian emerged, when he got in front of her he pulled her into his arms, and kissed her.

"I will miss you so much."

"So will I Caspian."

Soldiers and a carriage arrived and Nadia stepped out, "It's great to see you Aurora I also wanted to bid you farewell."

"Have a safe trip, My Lady."

"Thank you Aurora don't worry I will take care of my husband very well."

Caspian hugged her one more time and he helped Nadia into the who turned and smiled at her and she knew it was a smile to rub it in her face.

Caspian climbed in she watched as the carriage went and the soldiers grew smaller and smaller. Part of Aurora was relieved that Nadia was gone as she could actually enjoy herself without being hounded by her and the king and the queen.

Yet with it came some sadness as she would not be seeing Caspian anytime soon, and she had grown used to him being there all the time.

She sighed and went back to her chambers, and lay down, in moments like these when it was quiet and she alone it made her overthink Caspian's love for her.

What would she do with herself if he ever got tired of her? She was not like Nadia who forever had a solid place.

She knew that during this trip they had to be very affectionate as they had to impress and be in good graces with Nadia's family.

Being a concubine had it's trials and tribulations but she had to admit that it was way better than being a maid and working excruciating hours.

If someone had told her a month ago that she would be hopelessly in love, she would have laughed at them.

Aurora always thought that she was not cut out for this life and she was sure that her friends were laughing at her, as she was adamant that she would not be in love.

She would go see her friends later on today as she had some time and wanted to catch up with them as she had spent every waking minute with Caspian.

All she did was for Caspian and she was so hypnotized by him that she had nothing but him on he mind all the time.

Even if Caspian was not where she hoped she would see him in her dreams.....
