Chapter twelve
Author POV
He stared at her unbelievably, trying to register in his head, the shit that jus happened. He just couldn't stopped questioning himself over and over again, wait! Did she just slapped him?
Meanwhile, she stood glaring daggers at him, in pure disgust, as anger surged through her, she just couldn't believe that anyone would ever say such trash to her, calling her a liar, and as if that isn't enough, calling her a bitch too, what guts!
"This should be the very last time, you ever open that trash you call mouth, to talk to me in that manner, else, you won't like what I will do." She snapped angrily, while glaring hard at him.
He stood staring at her in disbelief, he just couldn't resist the urge to scoff, how dare she raise her hand on the almighty Lucifer? How dare she touch the fierce Lucifer, is she not afraid of death?
He stared intently at her, his eyes darkened, his aura came consuming her, but she showed less effect, she was so consumed in her own anger, that even his dark and intimidating aura, had no effect on her, and for some reason, he found himself, wondering who she is, and why she isn't scared of him.
"Are you going to give me my phone or are we doing staring contest here?" Her angry voice cut through his ears, bringing him to an abrupt halt. He glanced down at her hand, which was holding out his phone to him, and to her face.
"You don't know what you've done, poor girl, but I'll make sure that you regret ever trying this." He said in his deepest and most dangerous voice, while staring deep into her eyes, as his lips curved into a deadly smirk.
She froze on her spot, as she was welcomed with the most dangerous eyes ever, staring down at her, blazing with anger, as she found herself, drowning in his aura. As much as she was nervous, she didn't give him a chance to suspect that, as she tried as much as not let her fear take over her.
"I'm coming back for you." He said, not breaking eyes contact with her. Opening his car door, he grabbed the phone from the passenger seat, and gave it to her, and with that, he hopped in on his car, and turned on the ignition, before driving out of the place, not bothering to take his phone from her.
"Hey your phone." She called out to him, but he was long gone. Slowly, her eyes gaze fell on the phones, which were in her hands, and she just couldn't help scoffing. The incident that just happened, keep replaying in her head, and she could only get more confused.
"You're ok Lilly?" Came Nina's voice from behind her, and she stared at the direction, through which he left, before finally turning to face Nina, who was standing on the deck of the stairs.
"Yeah." She replied with a forced smile on her face, while hiding the phone behind her back, and slowly, she slid it into her pocket.
She glanced at the direction one more time, before climbing the stairs to Nina, and together, they both headed back to their room, and in the next few minutes, the two were sitting across each other in the study, reading.
While Nina was busy, trying to read, Lilly was lost in thoughts, as the thoughts of him, filled every inch of her. The image of his deep green eyes, which she had never seen in her entire life, his aura, which she can't decipher where they were coming from, and the thought of everything that happened, left her thinking.
"Lilly!" Nina called, while banging her hand on the desk lightly, trying to get her attention, after calling her for minutes, without she answering.
"What? You scared me." She flinched, while holding her chest, trying to calm herself down.
"What are you thinking about? I've been calling you for minutes now, but you didn't seem to be here, tell me, are you ok?" Nina asked worriedly, while giving her a questioning look.
"I'm fine Nina, was just thinking about something, not something you should worry about though." She gave Nina a forced smile, and with that, she stood up and dropped her book.
"Where are you going to?" Nina asked with her eyes, widened, while staring up at her questioningly.
"Nina, I think I need to rest, you carry on with reading, will join you when I'm ok." She said, and without waiting for her to object, she walked away, and into their room.
Stepping into the room, she sighed softly, as she dragged her feet to her bed, and let her weight down it, after which she fell on her back, while staring at the ceiling.
"Really? Are you making me feel like a liar here? I should've known better, a thief is sure guaranteed to be a liar too, and who knows, a touch of bitch won't be a big deal." His words echoed in her head, and she shut her eyes tightly, trying to contain the sudden anger that surged through her. She couldn't believe that he said all that to her, the fact that he called her a liar didn't hurt that much, but how dare he to call her a bitch.
"Jerk!" She scoffed angrily, as she sprang up to her seat, and rolled her eyes. Letting out a sigh, she stood up and walked over to her closet, before throwing it opened, as she was welcomed with the phone, staring back at her.
"Why didn't he take his phone?" She scoffed confusingly, before reaching out to it. It wouldn't hurt, taking a look at the phone, right?
She walked back to the bed, with the phone in her hand, and sat down, before pressing the power button, but strangely, the phone was already off. She almost cringed at the strange thing, the phone was on and charged, before the guy came around, so how come it's switched off now, when she didn't touched the phone, neither did he take the phone from her?
"Strange." She mumbled, and sighed, before standing up. Walking over to her closet again, she threw the phone inside, and slammed the door closed, before heading to the bathroom, but stopped in her track, as something caught her attention outside her window.
"What's that?" She asked no one in particular, as she stared at the shadow, standing behind her curtain.
"Who's there?" She asked, trying not to sound nervous or scared, but the shadow didn't move, igniting her fear. Slowly, she tiptoed to the curtain, before flinging it opened at once, and froze on her spot, at the sight she behold...
