Chapter 14 - Finally, we met!

Chapter fourteen

Lilly POV

I gulped down the lump in my throat, as I counted my steps slowly to the curtain, and without warning, I flung it opened, and I froze on my spot, as I was welcomed with the most horrible sight of my life, a figure, dressed in all black, with a black cloak, over the body, and the hoodie cap, over the head.

I tried screaming, but I felt my voice gone, and I could only stand, fidgeting on the spot. I batted my lashes, to be sure I wasn't dreaming, and when I opened my eyes, I was met with an empty space, and that when I felt my voice, and I screamed out in terror.

"What's the problem Lilly?" Nina asked worried, as she came running from the study, looking all worried.

Tilting my head to look at her, I gulped down the lump in my throat, as I slowly raised my trembling hand, pointing at nothing, while looking at her, with a terrifying look on my face. Gosh! What the heck is happening? I can't be hallucinating, right? I saw something here, and...and...what am I saying, I'm doomed.

"What's it Lilly?" She asked confusingly, as she tilted her head, giving me the ever confusing and questioning look. I don't blame her though, even I would do the same thing, if I were to be in her shoes. I think I'm losing my mind, how can my life turn this way, in just a few hours, huh? First, it was the restaurant, second, the annoying jerk, third, I almost ran into a vehicle, and as if that wasn't enough, the annoying jerk came here and talked to me rudely, the worst is that I'm now hallucinating, but the question is, am I really imagining things, or is what I saw real?

"He...he was there." I stuttered, pointing at the curtain, even if I don't know what gender he or she was. I can't possibly be hallucinating, I saw something, and...and...damn!

"There's no one here Lilly, are you sure you're ok? Do you need to go see a doctor?" She asked worriedly, after she sticked out her neck out of the window to check out if she saw anything, before turning her attention to me, looking all worried and confused.

"Uhm...I think I'll be fine, you don't need to worry." I gave her a small smile, as I wiped off the beads of sweats on my forehead, while she stared at me suspiciously for seconds, before walking away.

I gulped down the lump in my throat, as I dragged my wobbling feet to the window, and looked out of it, before heaving a sigh of relief. I closed the window, and finally walked into the bathroom, still trying to get a hold of myself, and recover from the shock I just experienced. Stepping into the bathroom, I stripped out of my clothes, and got under the shower, as I let the water fall freely on my body, calming me a little.

My mind wandered off to what just happened, and I found myself cringing, but I quickly shrugged it off, I have test tomorrow, and disturbing my brain with something scary like this, leading me to not sleeping overnight, is the last thing on mind, not that I prepared for the test though, but it still doesn't mean I shouldn't sleep, right?

After what seemed like forever, I finally turned off the shower, and wore my robe, before stepping out to the room, where I met Nina, already deeply asleep on the bed, snoring tiredly. She slept off without having her bath? That's serious, she must be very tired.

Dragging my feet to her bed, I dragged the duvet to cover her body, before going to lay on my bed, while staring at the ceiling, I don't have the energy to apply anything on my skin tonight, so I'll just sleep.

I closed my eyes, waiting for sleep to take over me, but it never came. Twenty minutes passed, and I started tossing on the bed, with so much thoughts, parading my mind, igniting my fear. I kept imagining seeing the figure from earlier, and I always jerked and cringed. Is this how I'm going to drown in my own fear for the rest of the night? Why the heck can't I just sleep, huh?

Letting out a frustrating sigh, I grabbed my pillow, and covered my face with it, while trying to get some sleep, but it still didn't work.

Minutes ticked into an hour, before I finally felt my eyelids heavy, and without restraining myself, I closed them, and let sleep takeover me...

Unknown POV

I stood behind a tree, watching the whole drama, the thought of the lady, slapping Lucifer, keeps replaying in my head, and I couldn't help the thoughts that keeps messing with my head. I know no one dares to try such with the almighty Lucifer, and not pay with his or her life, and the thought that he left her without any reaction, makes me conclude there's something wrong somewhere.

He finally hopped in his car, and drove away, looking all angry. I stared at his car, till it was out of sight, before I finally returned my gaze to the girl, who was also staring at the direction, through which he went.

A lady of about her age, came out of the building, and called her, before they both finally went back in.

What's going on? What could be between those two?

I finally came out from behind the tree, and stared at the closed door, with so many things, running through my mind. For this past years, I've never seen him with any woman, and the thought of not just seeing him with a woman, but getting slapped by her, is the most shocking and confusing part of this.

Looking at the building, my eyes darted to one of the numerous windows, which happened to be in the third floor, and without thinking twice, I teleported to the window, and as suspected, it turned out to be her room.

I watched from the window, as she kept scoffing and cursing under her breath, I guess she must be thinking of what happened between her and Lucifer. I doubt if she knows who he is, because if she does, messing with him, will be the last thing on her mind.

I watched as she stood up and walked over to her closet, before making her way back, but stopped, with her gaze, intently on the curtain, I guess she noticed someone standing behind her curtain.

She tiptoed to the curtain, and in the next seconds, she flung it open, and froze on her spot. I teleported to the deserted island in the woods, and staring at the water, trying to solve the riddle in my head, when I felt a presence behind me, followed by a voice. Finally, we met!...
