"How does she know that I am Deaf?" I ask myself as I stare at the woman.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" The woman asked her. Brenda stared at the woman and still didn't answer her. The question was still stuck in her head. How did she know?
"I know you are worried and surprised how I know this." The woman told me, I nod at her. I am not going to say anything until I know what she really wants, why is my life becoming a mystery to me?
I don't like it.
"I am sorry if I startled you but- um…" The woman said and stopped signing, and looked down. I guess she is worried that whatever she was going to say next was going to tell me was offensive.
But what she didn't know was that getting offended was not on my list.
Everyone was free to say whatever they wanted, there was freedom of speech in the county and I was not going to ask her to stop saying whatever to me. That applied to me alone and not to any of my sisters.
