In the forest she found it hard to find the exact site but immediately stopped walking when her necklace began to glow. Going towards her right where the necklace was pointing at, she found a pattern on the ground along with a man sized hole on. The pattern on the ground was the same as the symbol she had seen in the scroll she had gotten from the king's palace. That only meant that she was in one of the ritual sites, one that had been completed. She studied the pattern a bit more, hoping to understand a little bit and then reread the records she got from Zamien's room. The record says that a pile of dead bodies were found in a hole and around that hole was a pattern. The unique thing being that the bodies found were only bodies of aged people.
According to the scroll she had read, this was called the Unbinding and was the 10th ritual on the list. It only meant that the witches performed their rituals in other empires as well as Rhodes, but she wondered why she had never heard of such a thin in Rocenko.
After looking around and finding nothing more, Dessa went to the latest site, where investigation was still un-going. Still on the invisibility spell, she walked in and looked around. What she saw made her choke. Trees were uprooted and made to line up, hanging from each of these trees were children that looked less than 7 years of age. Their eyeballs gauged out and holes in their chest. The witches were brutal in their rituals and even if these were demon children, Dessa felt pity for them and their parents.
As she walked ahead, she noticed a detached hut hidden behind the uprooted trees. Walking towards it, Dessa was surprised to find that her necklace had started to glow again. Everything in the hut seemed to be normal even though it was empty. She searched every corner of the hut only to find two gardening books and nothing more. Grabbing them both, she stepped out of the hut, deciding to head back to the palace before her husband noticed her absence.
