Layla's POV (Continuation…)
My eyes turned to them, with a questions hanged in my expression. I didn't like how Maia looked a little somber this time.
"Okay, did I miss something? I was about to ask about the duel." I said. Harriet refused to meet my eyes along with Jira. So I turned to Kanali and widened my eyes to her.
"There won't be a duel." Kanali said.
"Why?" I asked and turned to Maia. "Have you decided to get claimed as a mate by that guy?"
Maia only sighed and returned to t the table along with the others. I followed Kanali since she was more inclined to talk to me about the matter.
"Why are you following me?" Kanali complained.
"Because you're the only one who can tell me frankly about what happened." I said and sat on the seat across her.
"Go to Maia." Kanali said.
"I will after I finish asking you." I insisted. "What happened?"
