Expectedly, her eyes widened at that before she whipped her head left and right. She let out a subtle sigh of relief when no one paid them attention.
"Keep it down, Hunner. I don't want to have problem with my manager here." She said.
I only shrugged at that. "I think he won't mind too much." I said since I already had an encounter with the diner's manager before.
"He's kind, yes. But I won't abuse that." She said and wrote down something on her notebook. "I'll get you your energy drink."
"Okay." I said.
I watched Layla turned away from me and then went into the counter. She relayed the order to the woman standing behind the counter. My phoned beeped inside my pocket, making me tore my eyes from her. It was a message coming from the chief. My brows twitched at his message so I dialed him.
"What do you mean by conflict?" I asked.
