Then why did they let you come with him?" he asked again.
"I..."
"They know enough to trust me with their daughter," Ash said before I could say something.
"Still she is their daughter, right? They can't get to know you in only one day," his uncle said.
"Uncle Victor, that's something that Cassie and I need to worry about, not anyone else. And I would appreciate it if people kept their noses to themselves," Ash said coldly.
His uncle seemed to get angry at this but did not say anything else. It kind of seemed to me that he was a bit afraid of Ash. Was Ash very angry? Would he punish people if they did not listen to him?
This thought came to my mind a lot every time I would think of saying or asking him something. But as each minute passed, with his gentle behaviour, I could not think of him becoming angry.
"What's this?" I asked, looking at the weird-looking slimy thing on my plate.
"That's made of beef," he replied.
