Sebastian went to get another glass of water for Sophia.
Sophia replied, "Thank you."
He nodded in acknowledgement.
"Thank you for bringing me to the hospital."
"You're welcome."
This time she drank quickly. The temperature of the water was just nice. It was neither too hot nor too cold.
She put the empty paper cup back on the bedside table.
Sophia said, "Why didn't you explain our relationship to the doctor just now?"
She was still dwelling on the incident.
Sebastian thought, 'Questions like these do put pressure on people.'
He said briefly, "It's meaningless."
"How can it be meaningless? If I explain it, the doctor won't misunderstand."
"The doctor and patient have their respective roles to play. Having a misunderstanding doesn't prevent them from doing that."
Sophia muttered softly, "I'm fine. I'm just afraid that it'll affect you."
